I have to correct my earlier statement about this being a bit cliched. Totally or completely would be far more accurate. The battle at the beginning was delightfully like an animated version of the beginning of the LOTR films. The symbol of the shadowlord was nicely combining the hand of Saruman and the eye of Sauron. The evil birds... Why not just call them fell beasts... Well, I suppose it's no use to list individual aspects borrowed from elsewhere... The list would become far too long.

Still, it was good enough to keep watching. Once you accept the truth there isn't a single original idea in this story, it all rolls quite nicely, at least as far as you can judge based on just one episode.

Deltora Quest Episode 2 from DATS
edit - DATS names the files in such a way that linking to their torrent file from a tracker doesn't work, least not here at Gotwoot. I needed to grab the link from their website, (updated Bud's initial post as well)

Deltora Quest_ Episode 2_ DATS_xvid format

Just watched both these episodes and I think this show is actually pretty good. Sure it has that 'classic RPG' feel and story about it, but I still think it's worth watching. The animation is pretty fluid and the characters are all interesting, albeit classic archetypes.

There's alot of "borrowed" things from RPGs and fantasy books (the cloak and the girl raised in the forest being the latest...), but they're all pulled off nicely in this show. I haven't seen a 'Quest' type anime for awhile now. This will make a good second-tier anime for me to follow.

Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".

The quest to save Deltora continues!

seriously, is nobody watching this show? I know it's not the epitome of anime and there are alot of ripped-off things, but it's very rich and well put together for this kind of adventure genre.

then again, if nobody besides me is watching, i'll stop bumping this thing and just watch on my own... i won't be triple posting for the next release if it's not going to be of interest to anyone

I been watching their releases since episode 4 I think. DATS or whatever group was fansubbing it, seems to have stopped at episode 3. ACG has gotten slow with Deltoria, which I enjoy watching very much. Wish they were more speedy with it instead of a release every 3 weeks. :P

Yup, a very good anime. I have no faults with it. Besides, all anime rip something off from one show or another. I see no faults in story or characters.
