Who in their right mind would make Gaara a teacher to kids?!
It's like ASKING for a whole pile of child corpses!
Much as I liked the "all 12 working together" thing at the end it doesn't make up for how oddly out of place the whole sand stuff in the early half was.
At least the bad guys look kinda cool.
A promising beginning that will no doubt be ruined with poor enemies and a horrible ending.
Indeed. But at the same time I found it so genuinely hilarious that I actually laughed merrily when watching it. It was somewhat refreshing, as 99% of time when the fillers have made me laugh, it has been sarcastic or even ironic laughter. So, I have to say I think it was a good idea, even if not overly healthy for the children. But then again, most of the students seemed to gather the idea and rather chose Temari and Kankurou.Originally Posted by DarthEnder
Yeah. This arc didn't look too bad. Let's hope they have tried their utmost to come up with a good filler arc now that the time of the fillers is ending.
Where is tenten? o.0
You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end each of us must work for his own improvement, and at the same time share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful. -Marie Curie
This episode was just full of silly holes.
Not only was Gaara as a teacher well disturbing as already stated but Shinkamaru's plan seemed well beyond flawed. You want none of your ambush team to act on there own so you pair up Naruto and Lee.... I mean sense when have those two kept there cool at any point. Sakura is leading any part of this and was so important to the mission he made a special request??? Sense when has Sakura had the ability to lead anyone. I would simply assume Neji to be the far more competent leader in that group.
Anyway I can't be mad at this filler as it should be the last one it just seems as always a bit off.
Indeed. Why put everyone except her? Damn filler writers.Originally Posted by UChessmaster
Gaara as a teacher is awesome.
It was actually wierd seeing Gaara wielding that rope weapon. I mean, I'm sure Gaara has always been capable of quick movement, but it's something they've never showed before.
I'm used to seeing Gaara either just standing there while his sand does all the work, or hunched over like a slobbering monster.
Also, why is that kid even trying to become a ninja? I'll never fucking understand why so many characters that seem to not care for violence become ninjas in Naruto. What don't they understand about ninjas being jumping stabby guys?
Well, ninjas are the soldiers of the hidden villages. If people living in the villages desire to have any role in defending their homes, then they need at least some basic training, and since the ninjas are the defence forces, ninja arts are the only available forms of defence education available. So, even if they all even didn't desire to become real ninjas for life, that would still be the way to go.
Like Eowyn said: "those without swords can still die upon them." The kid trying to receive teaching from Gaara seemed to have learned that the hard way.
i like how the kid tried to pick up the huge club. stupid kid. it was nice to see that kakashi is still alive. if i didn't know any better, i would have thought that he was the one away training with jiraiya.
is gaaras student a guy or a girl?
pisses me off when i cant tell
I would have to say a girl but hey its anime so I could be wrong.Originally Posted by redcat
I think Tenten might be missing because, in an overall group as large as that, she doesn't bring anything really useful to the table. She's a weapons specialist. But then again, every ninja is trained to use weapons to an acceptable degree in the academy, so that ground is pretty much covered. You have so many people available to throw shuriken around, is one more person really needed?
Sure, she could summon something big and/or deadly, but remember the time that happened during the Gennou filler? That kind of disappointing character usage is better left just not occuring at all. As well, she's just not flashy enough and would be pretty much ignored anyway when compared to any action Lee, Naruto, and Gaara perform.
Did anyone notice that kakashi's voice sounds incredibly different? Or is that just me from not having heard it so long and watching american naruto?
Animation was terrible, no real progression, went too slow. At least it'll be over soon =)
Didn't notice Kakashi sounding any different, but Pakkun did.
Both of their voices sound wrong. I hated the way Kakashi laughed. And it's completely wrong that Kakashi got caught off-guard by Pakkun. It's even more wrong that he hid his comic. Kakashi is supposed to be COOL!
This episode seemed different in several ways. The tree jumping was much more like crazy monkeys jumping through trees and trying to score style points as opposed to the standard flying with the occasional step routine. Also, the way Garaa looked and moved didn't seem to mesh with the way he was in the Chase arc. Neji and Hinata on the same two-man team seems unnesecary, but Neji and Shino can probably protect Hinata and Sakura best so maybe that's the reason.
I don't hold much promise for this arc, but since it's going to be like 13 vs 4 i'm sure some crazy nonsense will occur, maybe Naruto and Garaa will go deamon tag team or something, that might be fun to see.
Don't forget, the badguys were building "THE ULTIMATE WEAPON!"
I don't even understand the concept behind this village.
"They're the ones who create ninja missions."
What the hell does that even mean? Missions come from employers. Are you saying this village is where they write your missions down on scrolls for you? Is this a village of ninja scribes? It doesn't make any sense.
I was also wondering about that, and the only explanation I could come up with is that the village was some sort of central place, where the hidden villages had their representatives and some one requiring services could then visit the agents of various villages finding the best offer. After all, the hidden villages themselves apparently aren't open to just anybody trying to walk in, as was demonstrated how Naruto and WhatHisNameWasFlutePlayingBoy. They barely allowed Naruto to let the dude into the village.
So, in order to contact anybody from the hidden villages, the customers would need to meet representatives elsewhere.
Although maybe it would be better to not try to analyze fillers too deeply...
What Kraco says makes the most sense. Either that or the people with a need of services goes there tells the center what he/she needs and then they use the delivery shinobi (remember that stupid arc from way back when) to deliver the missions to the various hidden villages. In any sense, that was just one of the plot holes.
My big questions is why is there a four-man team of reconnaissance/medic shinobi when Sakura is the only one who has had any sort of formal training? I understand that Hinata and Neji will deal with the reconnaissance part but what the hell is Shino doing there?
Furthermore, isn't it wrong to send a bunch of kids to fight THE ULTIMATE WEAPON?
btw Pakkun's voice really did sound weird. I hope the real voice actor protested until they get the series back to the manga storyline but i highly doubt it
I think Tenten is quilting sweaters for everyone back at home. Its the ONLY reason to be left out of the mission.
