    Upcoming Anime: Winter 2006/2007

With a new year not only we get a new start and whatever... we also get new series. A lot like always (well, maybe NOT like last year that we got over 50...). Apart from those series you began watching this season... which of the next are you waiting to see? Personally this are what I wait for (or Im willing to at least give a chance).

    Saint October

Kotono Hayama is a healthy normal girl to the eyes of others, but internally she is full of angst and torment. Abandoned by her parents at an early age, she grew up on a convent. She wonders what happened to her parents and about the bizarre events that take place on her city.

Kotono decided to journey to learn the truth and meets Natsuki Shirafuyi and Misaki Hijiri. The three of them find out they are linked to a misterious event know as "Judgement's Day"

    Premieres Jan 04

    Gakuen Utopia: Manabi Straight

Year 2035. Sakura Gakuen is one of the schools scheduled to be demolished because of the low natality (sp?) in the last years. Sakura students are resigned to lose their school until a girl, called Manabi Amamiya, arrives and will do everything to save the school.

    Premieres Jan 07

    Venus Versus Virus

Sumire Takahana, a girl with a dark personality, is an outcast, criticized (sp?) because of her clothes, personality and comments about being able to see ghosts. She has been living a normal life, despite all that, until one night she witnesses a fight between a demon and girl armed with enormous guns.

The girl hands Sumire a card about Venus Vanguard, a gothic cloth store. When Sumire arrives she meets the girl once more. Lucia, the girl, tells her about the Virus, a race of demons she fights.

    Premieres Jan 11.

This are only January's new series, with many more to come. At least for now I'll check the first episodes of these three.

    Any series you guys expecting?

Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".

Another Evangelion movie? Geez... Gainax isn't getting new ideas lately.

Seeing the list I really don't expect no other series, apart from that one...

Hmmm... anyone knows when Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS will begin?

    Major Season 3

This is what I'm looking forward to the most. A baseball anime with a lot of heart. I wish it were more popular. Definitely an underrated series.

Honoko, don't direct link pictures to other sites. Upload the picture somewhere.

The only series that caught my eye are the second season of Shana and Nodame Cantabile.
For Shana... well, first season was just good (worse case average, for me).
For Nodame Cantabile, I'm watching the live-action for that show currently (which is absolutely fabulous), so I am really anxious to see how the anime turns out.

The series that I'm most interested in so far are :

Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou Majin site
    Major Season 3
Nodame Cantabile (the manga and live action seems to be really popular now)
    Rebuild of Evangelion

Changed the thread title since we have too many vague title threads that speak pretty much of the same thing (Upcoming Animes), this way it should be easier to keep track of the threads.

Anyways, for this Winter season, these are the ones I'm mostly looking forward to:

Rozen Maiden OVA (already aired and released)
    Major 3rd Season
    Deltora Quest
    Les Miserables~Shoujo Cosette
    SHUFFLE! MEMORIES
    Master of Epic
    Project Blue Chikyuu SOS
    Venus Versus Virus
    Getsumen Toheiki Mina
    (Densha no Otoko inside anime)
    Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpucho
    Naruto: Shippuden
    Ikkitousen Dragon Destiny

So, for when the spring season is drawing close, I guess a similar thread to this one should be created with an appropiate title.

Ho... That's interesting. Les Miserables was one of the very first novels I ever read. A remarkable book, and taught me an important lesson about story telling that I never forgot ever since, despite the fact I wasn't very old at all, when I read the book (can't tell any details about that lesson in case somebody here has forgotten most of the plot of Les Miserables).

Thanks for the heads-up, Bud! I'll certainly be looking forward to this one.

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS is confirmed to be aired on April 2007.
Although rumor states it seems Nanoha, Fate and Hayate will be relegated to a secondary role and the series will focus on four new characters.

Another series that premieres on April and Im expecting is..

    Idol M@ster Xenoglossia

I can't say I'm pleased about the Nanoha update. But, when I first saw a description of the first season of Nanoha I wasn't interested until I watched the first episode. Got a long wait to find out now.

I've got Venus Versus Virus and whatever's still going from last season to look forward to in the meantime.

I thought the same, but Im willing to give StrikerS a chance. Specially since I like the character design of three of the new chars (the gun wielding girl looks like a combination of Nanoha, Fate and Hayate somehow... don't like her design, but oh well)

I will certainly give it a chance. I wasn't expecting anything from the series in the first place and only glanced at it because so many people talked about it. Yet, after watching the first episodes, I consumed the rest pretty eagerly and rapidly. So, with a history like that, I'm not entitled to too much skepticism...

If Nanoha trains one of them in her family's Twin Kodachi Style while she's giving them magic combat training, I will be ecstatic. I liked the rare references to Triangle Heart in the first series, but something like that would make my day.

Please don't discuss more plot elements for Nanoha, I haven't watched the second series yet.

Guess I need to watch Nanoha since I plan on giving the new one a shot. I'll also be picking up Ikkitousen and getting back into Naruto.
