And how did you gather that there'll be no cakewalk even with hybrid powers from those spoiler pics? Ichigo seemed to take care of business fairly easily once he went hybrid from what we can see in those pics. Of course, I agree with you that it will not be a cakewalk, but still can't find a reason to believe that just because of seeing those pics.
It won't be a cakewalk because he had to use those power's even when he didn't want to go bankai at the beginning and he is a fallen espada so how will he fair against a real espada? I foresee him getting his ass kicked some then someone is in danger and he finally gets the power he needs..

Not neccesarily all he really needs to do he be able to stay in hybrid mode longer then 11 seconds if he can maintain the mode for more then 10min maybe he will stand a chance in there. Also when they first meet the espada the main one even said ichigo's power is greater then his at certain times. So what im trying to get at is the power is ther he just has to learn how to utilize it better then he has so far in the series.
I belive it was Grimmjaw that said that but you forget that he never relesed his zanpakto and this guy has already done that plus he only had one arm.
I think as we go on we will see other vizords coming into hueco mundo and helping out

Yep, my premonitions of Ichigo needing to go vizard to beat the fallen look to come true in this chapter...I was hoping that he could just use his Bankai. I hope that it turns out that this guy used to be a very low number Espada b/c if not then what good is Bankai. I mean the series focused so much on achieving Bankai and how special it was. Now it is seems like just some 'move' that the bad guy just treats as trivial. Maybe this thought is combined with the fillers and how Ichigo's Bankai is used to no avail against Kaiya (sp?), but it just seems that it's either Vizard form now or nothing.

Could be Ichigo isn’t using his bankai to its full potential. He did learn it in three days so maybe Ichigo is not aware of his bankai’s full power, It could have a second form of release much like Byakuya's Senkei Senbonzakura Kageyoshi.

Well it does take up to 10 years to learn Bankai. And even if you have learned it you still need to master it. Byakuya mastered his but Ichigo hasn't mastered his as far as we know.

Maybe there isn't that much of a power gap, but I can see why Ichigo would want to beat the regular hollows in his Shinigami form.
does this mean that Ichigo is currently at the level of an uber-captain?
he was about the same as Bakuya when they fought, and now he's greatly powered up...
can the SS dudes even do anything now? I can't see any of the regular captains winning against an Espeda, maybe the old guy (#1 captain) can use his ultra flame sword, but other than him, i can't imagine one of them winning.
though, i can totally see Isshin chopping off espeda head like a wacko.
