I just finished watching 1-50 about two weeks ago. Its a very good series and I hope they're making a second season.
I'm hoping for a second season. That Sensei of the First fist said something at the end that got me hoping for a second season.
I dunno, seems to me like the current story somewhat resolved itself rather cleanly. I don't see what story they'd tell.
The shounen progression pattern starts off with a kind who's weak but has potential (at whatever... fighting, boxing, go), and progressively builds him up to be a stronger and stronger person, facing him off against a list of progressively stronger opponents. But to keep that going, you have to give him a list of progressively stronger opponents. Ideally, a series following this pattern and claiming to have some sort of roots in reality will stop long before it hits the tail end of dragonball or the beginning of dbz.
Odin was very nearly a DBZ opponent. He spent the whole series sitting at the top of the list of strong opponents. I think the series stops exactly where it should have.
They would probably tell the story of Kenichi training even more and fighting the other members or disciples of members of the organization Ogata was hinting at. And in the background would be more development on the relationships between Kenichi and his merry band of friends/allies especially Miu.
you know... DBZ was so popular. any hints that it might be going that way would lead to a giant smile on the network's exec's face (and on mine considering how much i liked DBZ even though the pacing was aweful)
season two would be entertaining!

any update from any source indicating that they would be continuing the series?? Manga is great and although they deviated a little bit from the manga they followed it pretty nicely. So if there is any news spread the word.
