I wasn't even aware that there was going to be a HALO movie.
Oh well, I find the storyline and gameplay for the game series just mediocre. I probably wouldnt've seen the movie anyway either... since it could've been another Doom. D:
But, but...! Everybody who is somebody KNOWS that Master Chief has far more character than your generic Space Marine on Mars!Originally Posted by Genma

So...can anybody speculate how probable it is that Microsoft will find someone else willing to take on this project?According to Jackson's rep, he and Microsoft respectfully declined leading to the exit of the studios. Normally the movie would put a project like HALO in significant peril, but because pre-production is being done at Jackson's Weta Workshop, work will continue. Microsoft is currently looking for new partners and is reportedly also in talks with other production partners
I can't imagine why it was dropped. They've got a guaranteed audience with every XBox owner out there.
<@Terra> he told me this, "man actually meeting terra is so fucking big", and he started crying. Then he bought me hot dogs
Well, Halo didn't have much of a storyline but really, it's not as if videogames movies have much of a storyline either.... I was mostly looking forward to Peter Jackson's special effects, which are always nice. I'm sure some other studio will pick it up sooner or later...

Wow, thats pretty gay...I was looking forward to seeing MC own some Covenant accompanied by some wicked special effects.
Looks like it still might come out.

Well, there's always NewLine, right? Peter Jackson made them rich with Lord of the Rings, perhaps they can be convinced...
...then again, videogames movies are a bigger risk than fantasy epics.

I'm honestly not the one who neg repped you, but that was pretty clearly a run-on sentence. I try not to be a grammar nazi, but that was about six sentences without so much as a comma.
It was a bit childish to neg rep you, but there should be no confusion on the point.
Again, I'm honestly not the one who neg repped you.
Back on topic, I really don't think that Halo had much of a plot. What's more, from a bean-counting movie studio's point of view it's a bad investment. The movie Doom mad no money so logically (in their minds) Halo wouldn't either. The financial failure of Doom couldn't possibly have had anything to do with the shitty writing and the near-abandonement of the source material.
