Kujibiki Unbalance (2006)
Kujibiki Unbalance (2006)
A new group called sirh seems to have been founded just for this series:
Episode 1 - sirh
A show all those who liked Genshiken probably won't mind seeing. Kujibiki Unbalance was originally a series within a series, that is, a series that was watched by the characters in the Genshiken series. Later three episodes were released as ovas, but they weren't really enough to build a whole plot.
"Here, in Rikkyoin High School, all the troubles are solved by the lot (Kujibiki), and even students are chosen by lots at the entrance exams. This is the story about a one-year battle among the candidates for the next school government leaders, who are also chosen by the lot, in order to gain the position." -AniDB
Episode number: 12

Edit: This sirh one doesn't look like a very succesful encoding. My MPC wouldn't open it due to some audio problems (I think). I won't bother to try to it any harder, but rather wait for a release in a standard format.

For some reason this series seems to attract brand-new subber groups. This time it's a group called Freefall. I'll get this as well. According to their website, they shouldn't have such encoding problems as sirh. Their release seems to be in an mkv container with a file size of just 120 MB.
Episode 1 - Freefall
Edit: Now, this sub was certainly worth watching. I have no complaints whatsoever. Well, the font disturbed me ever so slightly, because "g" was almost missing its low querl, but that's not really something to fuss about, when the translation itself seemed fine, translation notes were plentiful and detailed, signs were translated, and of course karaoke was there. So, I can certainly recommend this subbing.
The show itself was quite crazy as could be expected from the little we saw in the odd ovas a long time ago. The graphics were a bit refined, because this time there obviously wasn't any need to differentiate between the anime and the "real world" like in Genshiken. Still, you could nicely recognize people, naturally. You can't really say the plot would have been altogether clear in the old ovas, but this seems to build it steadily and slowly from the beginning.
Voice actors are mostly changed between this and the ovas, though. I spotted one same name with a quick look at ANN, but I think that's it. Well, it's not like I'd remember the old so well that it would matter.
Too bad the OP is different. The old was simple awesome.
