    Peculiar series.

Kind of made me want to go and mix a drink, though...

Hmm, sounds like a peculiar serie. A bartender anime? Hehe.

Well I guess I'll download episode one.

Unusual transitions, good animation, good dialogue... felt like I was watching a play instead of a weekly tv series. The only reason why I was remotely interested in this was I was reminded of Callahan's Chronicles by Spider Robinson, which was a sci-fi book about a bar that helped solve people's problems (hilarious, btw). I doubt that this "sober" (hah!) series will have any gut-busting humor but I like the premise, and having been exposed to it once, now I'll get to see another take on it.

Well, it wasn't their only release, but unfortunately that's it with two episodes:

Episode 2 - ADTRW Comment: "this will be on hold for a while because we don't want to fail classes. sorry nosanninwa. teddy bears with axes continue".

    Episode 2 - Lunar

Aside from their odd definition of bartender in episode 1, its pretty fun learning new drinks to try.

In ep2, they mention spumoni as a popular drink. How can ice cream be a drink?

Damn ADTRW not subbing it currently and Lunar having fancy high quality videos -_-
And I think that the tracker is down for the releases from ADTRW T_T

    I'm official.

i'm liking this anime. it's different from many others that i usually watch which is filled with action and comedy. i like the change and this particular anime, not to mention i get to see what ingredients are needed to make a drink (at the end). its like teaching kids how to mix drinks (not that i condone, it's just that it dawned on me)

^ I agree. The series is handling personal drama pretty nicely although it gets a little theatrical at times. But it's a good change of pace from the usual fare.

    lunar releases #5

Lunar is also finished /w Bartender - 05.

This series is fascinating. Each episode tells a story that just pulls you in. I was quite curious about the story behind the 3rd episode, the Margarita. So I cross-referenced this drink with the wikipedia article only to be disappointed that the story told in the Anime is not listed in the wikipedia article. Perhaps the story the anime told is one of the "other" popular stories that the wikipedia article does not list. Still very compelling.

To those that haven't looked into this Anime, I say go for it. I think you'll find that Bartender has a character all it's own.
