    Episode 23 - Your-Mom

It wasn't fortunately as legendary a cliffhanger as it could have been, because it wasn't exactly cut in the middle of any scene or fight, but you can't really say the wait till the summer isn't going to suck a bit more because of this. I doubt a week will go without desperation due to the lack of Geass...

A splendid episode, and very dark. The best moment might have been when Lelouch let himself fall into the darkness, and consequently his answer to the girl. Man, that was a really great scene. It felt a bit out of place and strange in the beginning with the girl behaving like a... well, like a little girl with the proposal and everything, but then when Lelouch gave such an answer, it turned golden. Jolly good. And not a bad evil overlord laughter, either, at the end.

This episode really was packed with excellent scenes.

Mmm, good episode tiem tow ait for the summer.

    **Spoilers**

As much as I hated Euphie, I didn't want her to die. Oh well. And Nina you stupid bitch, why won't you wrist yourself already? And it seems Orange is back as a cyborg-asskicker maybe. The cliffhanger wasn't as big as I thought it'd be, but I crave more.

I LOVED that smile. Nina's reaction was great. And didn't CC sayed what their contrat is?

Dont read if you plan to wait for GG

    Awesomeness to the end.

    Will Villetta survive?
    Who is VV?
    Kaguya = kawaii
    Lelouch's laugh was awesome.
Suzaku finally is following his heart, and not his own stupid justice.
Cornelia's expression after Euphie's death was splendid.
Too bad Euphie didn't try to kill Suzaku.

  7. #527
Ding Dong the bitch is dead!!!!!!

But on a more serious note, while I disliked Euphie, I did feel bad that she met her end under the circumstances she did. Any chance for the world she envisioned was destroyed by her own hands, and I think that somewhere deep down she knew it.

Ad Lelouch's convo with Suzaku at the end was a bit odd, I don't think Suzaku knows about him, but it almost seemed like Lelouch wa speaking to him as if he did.

Oh yeah... if someone can do me the favor of taking a screenshot of 22:18 (not posted here though, for those that don't watch the ep) I will be grateful. MPC won't save me images, and virtual dub won't open the file since I use CCCP. Thanks.

    Spoilers

By Suzaku's conversation it's possible that he knows Lelouch is Zero. VV might've possibly told him. And don't you think it's stupid to call a friend and ask him "Do you hate someone so muhc in this world that you want to kill them? Ok, I'm off to go kill someone!" I felt that was such a cheesed conversation.

@RyougaZell: If you go into MPC Options, under Playback->Output you'll probably see the Overlay Mixer radio button clicked. If you change that to System Default it should allow you to take screens.

Anyway here's the screen you wanted (Nice Scene). It's not really a spoiler but it is from ep 23 so don't click if you don't want to see anything early!

    GG fans beware---

I personally thought the conversation between Lelouch and Suzaku at the end was golden. Suzaku doesnt know Lelouch is Zero, if he did, he would be more confused and angry in that conversation. Suzaku cant really act or hide his feelings as everyone should know by now. Suzaku asked Lelouch about it because they are bestfriends, and he knows of Lelouch's past and how he also seeks revenge. And he also called because he didnt want the people he cares about to see him murdering people, which I believe makes sense. I dont hate Suzaku so much now, since he has finally realized the feeling of hate, and in doing so, he has unknowingly acknowledged Zero's way of doing things.

I think the reason why Lelouch was speaking that way was because the conversation was in the context of Suzaku knowing his past and his desire for vengeance, rather than his present sin of being Zero.

VV probably only told Suzaku about the geass.

My favorite scene was CC comforting Lelouch. I seriously pity Lelouch right now. Killing his first love with his own hands, and all the other sins he has committed, Im surprised he hast gone completely insane. I just hope CC would be more honest to herself, and stop pretending that she doesnt have feelings for Lelouch. Im getting tired of her making excuses, and saying stuff like "I cant allow Lelouch to die" (because of her motive) instead of just saying "I dont want Lelouch to die". Why is it so wrong for her to like Lelouch? That is the question that is bugging me the most. I thought that it was because of the Mao incident before, but there seems to be more than that.

i made the switch to Shinsen, since they got the episode out faster and their subbing is tolerable... But throughout the episode I had this feeling that there's a noticeable loss between them and GG...

    Ougi fucked Viletta, lucky bastard.

I really like the idea of Shirley slowly uncovering Lelouch's secret. I knew he'd regret that command he gave her... Geassing people to do stupid shit on some emotional whim, he really is inconsistent with his brains.

CC materializing was interesting. It came from the virtual world!!! Only God knows what that weird thing that happened to Suzaku was... and, as CC intimated, it's probably not from her invading his mind.

The sappy, do-good thinking of Euphie hurts my brain.

....tell her your secret power... great thinking Lelouch...

First "accidental Geassing" is a doozy! Is it because he's been using it too much, or is there a problem on the "other world", the source of the power, and with CC? I love the command, it's freakin awesome and will certainly bring full support to the Black Knights. I'd be completely crushed if I was Lelouch though...

they finally introduced that girl behind the curtain. She seems like she'll be a mover in getting more help for Zero, so I like her.

Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".

I was instantly reminded of C&C cyborgs... But I guess when you damage him enough not tiberium is going to spill out but just some orange juice...

I also liked the conversation between Suzaku and Lelouch, for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that I actually like theatrical conversation and scenes as long as they don't cross the fine line and become absurd. In my opinion that didn't happen now. The other reason is that Suzaku's state of mind was probably were abnormal during the conversation. He has just lost his loved person and consequently he had cracked his old pretense of justice, which practically had defined his personality for years. It's still interesting he wanted to call Lelouch at all, but maybe it was a bit like saying good bye.

I wonder if it's because she has in the past allowed herself to really fall in love with people, all the whom she has then inevitably lost. Some of them flashbacks do indicate she's some kind of an immortal, so she could have lost not only one but more loved ones. She might be really in pain trying to at the same time take care of Lelouch and keep him at a certain distance, especilly now that Lelouch pretty much don't have anybody else but her, and maybe his sister, because her blindness should protect her from the geass, but it would be a pain to keep meeting her because there are often other people around.

    *spoiler warning*

My thoughts on this series up to episode 23:

    Euphie dying:
-Didnt expect it to happen but im glad that it did. I guess she isnt Lacus Clyne in disguse after all

Nina freaking out at Euphie's death:
-that was ....(i just dont have the words)

    C.C. conforting Lelouch:
-We might end up seeing a C.C. and Lelouch couple in season 2 . My biggest concern is that C.C. get over the whole "were just accomplices" excuse and genuinely allow herself to have true feelings for Lelouch.

Anticipations for episode 24/25 and season 2:

    (stuff i want to happen):

Episode where Lelouch reveals his identify to the world:
-I just want to see everyones reaction when they find out that the greatest enemy of Britain is a former prince of Britania.

    C.C. and Lelouch pairing:
-I believe that both them "need" each other at this point. C.C. is probably the closest person to him at this point. She knows his deepest secrets, she gave him his power, and has witnessed his sins as well as his sorrows. While he has not only saved her once but also knows one of her greatest secrets: her name. Well if this doesnt end up happening i still mind a Karen and Lelouch pairing.

(stuff i dont want to happen):

    Shirley and Lelouch pairing:
-Do i really have to explain?

Suzaku going into SEED mode on the Order of the Black Knights:
-This happening would turn this series into GSD for me. So far this series is great and has the potential to be even greater, i just dont want this series to have the same potential GSD had only to drop it half way through the series.

    (on a side note):
-iv noticed a lot more code geass sigs at the top of the page, .
-Im just wondering if anyone could direct me to a place where I could some code geass sigs to go with my C.C. avatar.

If you watch GG don't read below:

@Kraco, You singlehandedly made my day with the "Orange juice rather than Tiberium" comment about Orange-kun. He totally will.

CC's relationship with Lelouch is a strange one. Since their contract, she knows everything about him. And since the cave incident, he knows more about her than anyone else alive (except maybe the Emperor...) We brought this up before during the incident with Mao, but the two of them know each other on a more intimate level than most couples do. They also trust each other a great deal, though to an extent, they are both wary of each other. They may each have their own motives, but to outsiders, they certainly appear to be lovers. I don't think it matters if either of them "loves" the other, they are already at a level that exceeds most couples, even if it's only a "business relationship." A lot of her intimacy issues were addressed in the Mao arc. Generally, she appears as a big-sister or mother in a lot of her connections with people, but with Lelouch, she either has more faith in him than she had with any of her past contractees, or she's allowing herself to get a little closer because he's so "Interesting."

I hope Viletta (or is she Chigusa now?) kills all those Japanese about to rape her. It may mean she'll regain her memories, or if we're lucky, she won't, and she'll get confused about why she's able to do it so easily.

Ugh, Nina's face when she found out. I hope Zero and CC blow her up after she's finished modifying Millay's family's frame.

I wonder if Lelouch will still want to capture Cornelia, because she surely will want to kill him now. They are at least still aligned in one of his goals, and she has investigated the most on his mother's death.

As with everyone, I agree that the speech at the end was awesome. To me though, it almost seemed like Suzaku knew. Kind of like a "I don't know for sure if you know, and you're my best friend, but I'm coming to kill you now. Sorry." Obviously, if that was true, Suzaku would have broken down into a pile of mush instead of getting all pumped up for revenge. But I think the undertone of the conversation worked out perfectly in that manner. Especially on Lelouch's end. Almost a, 'I know you will soon come for me, but I'm sorry too, you're simply in the way.'

    End of spoilers.

It'd be funny if Euphie came back as a cyborg.

Something I made, due to amusement at Nina's face. Maybe spoiler - but if you've read this far down I don't think it's a problem.

After giving it much thought, I realize that the reason C.C. is wary of having feelings for Lelouch is because she knows it may hinder her achieving her goal eventually, especially if the situation requires her to sacrifice Lelouch or something like that. This is based off her comment to Mao, saying "I loved you", meaning that she did have feelings for him, and precisely because of that (and his apparent obsession which is quite inconvenient), she parted ways with him. Indeed, it may not be a separate incident, but more like her overall dedication to her cause, which has kept her lonely for so long (which also explains her joy with someone calling her real name)

I honestly think this is the case, and if it is so, I also hope that a time will come that Lelouch and her goals will come at odds, and she will choose Lelouch in the end. I think it would give her a more well rounded character, changing from simply trying to fulfill her mission robotically, to being more human.

Currently DLing GG's Ep 22 & 23 and the Season 2 Teaser via irc (their torrents are slow atm). I hope it's not an Apr. fools joke. I'll tell you if it's real or not after Dling.
