The required back story episode, nothing was really wrong with it, but on the other hand it wasn't particularly interesting b/c it wasn't anything different from most other back story episode. I was surprised that Machs was a top ranking academy student that got sent to PS for being to righteous. Also the idea behind the name was somewhat lame, but at least it does fit.

Aye. I agree. What really worries me, though, is that the main plot of this series is getting thinner and thinner. We are already at episode 10, and it looks like they are just pushing it further away all the time with these episodes that taste like fillers.

It feels like we're finally getting into a chunk of the main storyline now. I wonder what the creepy scientist lady is after with Orland. It's a two-parter, so we have to wait til next week. This eps was pretty much introductory for a continuous storyline.

I don't think she's looking for him, rather she wants to hide his existance... at least his origin and background.

If Oreld is the one she was referring to when she talked about her 'subject' then I can't think of many plots that would make sense. Possibly she's trying to see what will happen when you pit an ATT against newer technologies like the auto loading tank. She (or her group) might be behind all these advanced weapons that Section 3 has been encountering.

This was a good episode for a change. The main storyline moved forward nicely. Let's hope this trend will continue for the rest of the series.

I've watched 3-11 nearly back to back... and this is really an interesting series. not sure where this is going in terms of storyline but the war-torn country is well done (as far as i know...) and I guess its like Germany was after WWI. not having really lost the war... but not having won either. maybe this is why the setting is such.
one thing though... from the lady on the bridge episode... trench warfare is useless against tanks.

I think that statement is an oxymoron since tanks aren't trench warfare weapons. It isn't really trench warfare if only one side is attempting it and the other one is not but sends tanks. It's merely an entrenched defender and an attacker then.

I think what he's trying to point out is that historically, tanks and tank-supported infantry obseleted trench warfare very quickly.

Wow... freaking good episode... i have a question... do the invisible 9 only include 901-ATT? or are there other divisions? and is Oreld the only one left... and what the hell was he doing at the beginning of the show (ep 1)?
Oh, and i bet a sister as the mystery figure with the fiancee

Yay for conspiracies! There aren't enough assassins with poisoned back teeth in anime. I'm glad that the series looks to be heading into the main story line. The background eps were nice enough, but I want to enjoy some political intrigue.

Eps 13 looked like a filler eps from the preview, but it actually had a lot of information on a neighboring country, and went into the depressed, still-destroyed outskirts of the city where law is generally ignored. It was a deeper eps than I thought it would be.

It was a hell of a lot more interesting than the snow episode, I thought that one was worthless.

EDIT: Looks like 14 is the first part of the main storyline. We learn that Orland's squad wasn't the only one of the Invisible 9 projects.

Thanks, I guess I'll watch 13 followed by 14 now.

    Just watched 14.

Overall I felt that it was a somewhat uneventful episode besides the introduction of another Invisible 9 unit. HTT? Human Torch Trooper maybe? I was a bit disapointed that he didn't have a jetpack =P

I have the sudden urge to play some Metal Gear Solid 3 now.

    Edit: @ Yukimaru below

I know. I was referring to the fact that we now know of another unit in addition to the ones we've already seen, not that this was the first time another Invisible 9 unit was shown. Sorry if I worded my post awkwardly. My english isn't exactly stellar.

We learned about another 9XX unit in the first episode. Those guys with the poison gas were from the 903-CTT unit (Chemical Tactics Troop)
