Thread: Pumpkin Scissors

That was reasonably creepy. The Darth Vader breathing thing is more commonly used now but is still effective. And the "Samui... samui..." thing too. I hope there's a decent fight scene with the flamethrower

I think there are still a couple of pumpkins unscissored in the basement (or dungeons)...

The "pumpkin" and "scissor" analogies are starting to get a little heavy handed. Alice's use of it here was a bit of a stretch. I can honestly say I've never cut a pumpkin with scissors during halloween, it's messier and more dangerous.

Hmm, maybe it is a fairly appropriate analogy. If Section III used a real carving knife, they wouldn't be having so many problems.

Jokes aside, it looks like someone other than Orland is going to get into some serious action. Not so surprisingly, Alice.

I imagine they'll play up the scene where she opens the box she brought along quite dramatically, so for now I'll consider this a spoiler for the next episode. Alice PVC figurine

I had no idea what she had just said once she closed her mouth after the speech. "A bit of a stretch" was very appropriately said.

A box? I guess I didn't pay enough attention. I thought it was an rpg launcher...

The art and music are pretty good, and the voice acting is alrite as well......but i can't stand that guy who follows afro around. Hes so, well, black, for the lack of a better term (well thats not true, there is a better term, but i wont use it here)" Assassin

I've used Scissors to carve a pumpkin before, no more dangerous than using a knife. :/

Cavernously carved pumpkins are served in three variations:

    Episode 16 h264 -Eclipse
    Episode 16 xvid - Eclipse

What a great episode. Alice as the Slayer was awesome, and the member of the Silver Wheel seems like a very formidable enemy.

    Next episode looks even better.

Sadly, at the moment this only looks like it'll be a 24 episode series. I really hope there's a second season in the making or something.

There was much good in this episode, indeed. Unfortunately also something bad: The actions of the strike team. Unless they purposefully left the silver mask walk away, that part made no sense. And also they had a tank (or was it an APC) with them, so why didn't they use the 30mm, or so, gun to deal with the flame thrower dude? That made little sense. But fortunately that was the only weakness of this episode, while the rest was just as good as you said.

I think their mask's vision is so narrow that they just didnt notice the silver masked guy leaving.

Kidding aside, that scene is really strange, and lots of things were out of place. But Alice made up for that and more. I hope that the next episode shows more action than the recent ones, and I want some lantern berserk mode too.

Nice footwork by Alice, I really liked her Cavalry blade skills. Watching what the 901 use when the run out of ammo (or lose their Door Knocker) is also very impressive. Bolt Cutters, with Orland's strength. I was wondering what those were when he pulled them out of his pocket before shoving them back in.

Also interesting to note how deeply entrenched the Silver Wheel is in all aspects of the Empire.

Looks like the next episode will be a comedy relief episode starring Stekkin, the nearly useless member. I love Kana Ueda though (Stekkin's voice actress).

Do you guys think there will be romance developing between Orland and Alice? Thats kinda what I get from the opening theme, but so far they havent really gotten really close.

I guess that's what usually would happen, but I hope not this time. It wouldn't be very realistic. Alice belongs to some nearly royal family, as they often enough remind us, and Orland is practically nobody (which is also probably why he became a bearer of the blue lantern). I hope they will just remain friends who respect each other.

    I'm a little pumpkin
    Orange and round.
    Here is my stem,
    There is the ground.
When I get all cut up,
    Don't you shout!
    Just open me up
    And scoop me out!

What a great set-up and delivery at 7:00-7:20 or so.

The first half of this episode is stupid. But a well-executed stupid... it manages to be cute, in its own slightly embarrassing way.

Second half was interesting and good, as a character-builder.

Outtro was ... umm ... downright fucking gold. Especially with the section-3 baritone accompaniment .

    So saith complich8!

Yeah, I agree with everything here... And now let's see this wedding that's talked about at the end of the episode.

Schultz seems to almost sort of get it now, which is interesting. He almost seems like he could actually develop into a plausible rival given some time. Sadly, with only 6 episodes remaining, I don't think he's going to have the time, and I'm not optimistic about getting the whole story behind the story with the "silver wheel" crowd.

Still, I liked this episode as a whole. Good war relief, more reasonable character development, and a set-up for some potentially excellent action next week. I'd love to see Alice break out the "slayer" sword and kick some ass in her formalwear (except she'd need to change back into those boots).

For the non-hr fans and the xvid-watchers out there:
    Episode 19 h264 (normal res)
    Episode 19 xvid

Finally, some references to a romantic relationship between orland and alice. I knew they would eventually reveal some sort of feeling between them, but they delivered it really well I think.
