All those "Itachi is the strongest character in the series" statements and theories from ages ago seem to be getting weaker all the time.
I don't think Asuma will die quite yet - he'll have another trick up his sleeve, or be saved somehow for now. Then he'll die later.

backup will be on the way soon. some medical ninja (possible shizune) will save asuma although he will most likely be out of commission for a long time. and kakuzu and hidan will run away to purse naruto. then naruto and kakashi own them with the mangekyou sharingan and the kaze rasengan and everyone is pissed off at kishimoto once again cause no one dies. yay...

anyone else think hidan looks just like the necromancer for D2?
It's kinda stupid how a head can still talk when it's seperated from its body. When you talk, don't you use your diaphragm or whatever to talk? Also you use the air from your lungs to speak. The unrealism is killing me =/

Excellent line. Though this could set off some raw nerves as Naruto has been constantly doing the same thing throughout the fillers, because as boring as it's gotten, Rasengan does work.

anyways back to the chapter kakuzu and hidan make one pain in the ass team nothing like cutting off a guys head only to have his buddy reattach it also It's nice to see Kotetsu and Izumo fighting instead of being a pair of throw away extras.

So far, Asuma's been pretty pathetic when it comes to skills and strategies as a ninja. I wouldn't mind killing him off right now.
Well I'm sorta liking that "make Hidan drink his own blood" idea that one guy put up.

as funny as that is that shouldnt kill him if it worked out that way. his invulnerable in that form so he shouldnt be able to take fatal damage anyway, plus i dont see how it would affect him anyway as hes stabbing himself to use the jutsu in the first place. a stab wound over and identical stab wound wouldnt do anything.
And Ino-Chouji-Kuurenai team Jumps into battle and saves Asuma!

what im waiting to see is:
naruto finished training and gained his own element and his own jutsu
- maybe naruto learned to make a complete version of rasengan and show how ultra destructive rasengan is
- imagine like naruto doing tajyuu kage bunshin no jutsu and each bunshin as well as himself doing oodama rasengan
- or maybe naruto learned to master the kyubi. that would be a deadly thing for him to do..
anyway, what i want to see is naruto, kakashi, yamato, chouji, ino, sakura, shino, kiba, lee, gai, neji, hinata...all of em fighting off akatsuki...
and of course we cant forget ero-sennin. that's something we haven't seen in a while..
i wonder what jiraiya has been up to. maybe he's been training or getting more info on akatsuki and orochimaru.
and when are we gonna see naruto and sasuke fight again. i mean sasuke still hasn't seen naruto in his 4 tail kyubi form. that's something that will scare the crap out of naruto. i mean in the battle of the valley of the end (i think it was called) he got pretty scared when the kyubi's chakra started to leak out...and that was only 1 tail. when sasuke sees naruto using 4 tail and going completely berserk, i wonder how his shining chidori will compare to naruto's shinkuu rasengan blast thing (the one he used on orochimaru)
last time sasuke and naruto met, sasuke completely nulled the kyuubi. that why naruto is learning to use his own power. not to mention the narutos pretty set on not using tyhe kyuubi anymore.

You'll be waiting a fucking long time if you expect everyone to suddenly gather and fight. Since when have we ever seen Jiraya actually train himself? And I take it you fell asleep when Sasuke last owned Naruto despite everything huh...

I wouldn't mind a flash back to when jiraya was a chunnin or just became a jonin and shows him and the other two sannin training... would be intersting =P
Anyhow, I don't see how Azuma is gonna survive this, unless he gets speedy medical attention. I like him, but then again I don't feel at a great loss if he did die (unlike the 3rd, who I felt a lot of emotion for).
My 2 cents, he's gonna live. Somehow.
