    Devil May Cry

    Were unable to find any previous post about the DMC anime coming up so i thought i'd share what i know with you.
    There's not too much information around at this moment but the popular devil may cry game series for the playstation is going to be made into a 12 episode anime series. It will start in spring 2007. Unable to find any more information then that at this point, there's just a small teaser trailer out this far

    I really hope this'll be cool.. the teaser looked decent, but I can't see how the artwork will be..
    I don't know what to expect from the series, but I'm looking forward to it anyways..
    I think it'll take skill to screw up a series with Dante in it. Lucky for us, all those people are too busy with the Naruto fillers

    Well the animators are the guys that did Nana and Death Note, so it gonna be at least good quality. Hopefully some good VO will be at work here

    I agree didn't have much in the trailer, like no kind of animation, just some drawings. But still looking forward to one of the good PS2 games get animated, with a cool lead character in Dante.

    it was released a few days ago, you can find it on any tracker, but its a webrip, not the tvrip, so the quality is pretty low

    From flipping through the raw: the tagalong girl as annoying as fuck even when I don't understand her, and the monster design has pretty much nothing to do with Devil May Cry and everything to do with ripping on Hellsing and a dash of Berserk. Still looks interesting, though.

    That sub was understandable, but it had no QC at all. Anyone who downloads this should be prepared to download it again from somewhere else for archiving.

    What comes to the series itself... Hard to say. It looked like a light version Hellsing, just like Y said. I'll have to watch more episodes to really evaluate it any deeper. This first ep wasn't very enlightening.

    Having never played any of the DMC games I don't really care about how well they were adapted for this show, I care about whether the show is entertaining or not.

    The first ep had cool action, and Dante seems like a cool guy (of course). However after seeing the first ep I don't expect this show will give us much of anything new and differnent. On the other hand the show looks like it has all the elements to make it a good follower of the formula. Dante makes lots of little jokes, has a straight man to keep him grounded, acts super badass though deep down is a really good guy and all that jazz. I liked the "Restricted Scene" stuff though, made me chuckle.

    Predictions: Dane will do odd jobs and fight lots of monsters in the course of doing jobs (though he'll always be poor no matter how much he works). Eventually we'll find out there's a big bad monster behind the scenes, Big Bad will most likely have organized the previously disorganized monster world and might even have a personal grudge against Dante for some random but believable reason. Then they'll fight and Dante will kick his ass.

    Expecting/Knowing all this I'll still watch the show, and probably enjoy it. It's like riding a roller coaster you've already ridden several times. Even if it's not a new experiance, it can still be exciting.

    The subs were god awful. It was almost litterred with atleast 1 typo, or some word I've never heard of before (bastardy? wtf?) in every sentence or line.

    The show itself follows true to it's roots, action packed sword-swinging gun slinging action. However I do agree with Y, that the monsters aren't what's true to the DMC series at all.
