Thread: Black Blood Brothers

Yeah, I really liked this episode...

I wonder why Jirou said to Mimi something along the lines of "Mimi, who are you really?" Instead of noticing that it was all Kotarou's doing. I would've thought that it would be obvious to him.

Jirou was finally going to show some balls when he got pissed off at Mimi, but then he had to get his ass kicked as always. I'm still waiting to see what's so great about him.

I thought it was great how he got pissed off at Mimiko, I was hopinf he'd do something.
"..you conceited human.." that was awesome.

I guess we'll see Jirou go all out next episode, which is the last.

Sei was awesome, very strong vampire.

Black Blood Brothers - 12 by Kyuu - Final Episode

Well all is well that ends well, though it was a little too open ended for my tastes. Perhaps there will be a second season, they certainly laid enough groundwork.

It was a fine series. I've always been a fan of vampires, and vampire animes, though few in numbers, have oft been good.

This certainly ended like there could be another season, and furthermore, according to information Arcness relayed to me, the source material is still being published. So, it should be possible to continue it, if they so choose.

Indeed this was an enjoyable series, and I have high hopes for a sequel being done. See this is the way to do things. Do a short series, wait for more material to be writen or published, then do a sequel. Fuck fillers.

A very nice series and a good way of ending it, I do see a second season ahead, but maybe just not for a while.

It was good to see some of the skills of Jirou before it was all over, and his swordsmanship. The best part by far was when he was fighting Cassa and Yafuri tried to get Jirou, and he chopped straight through him.

It was good to hear what exactly Kotarou exactly was, and hear more of the bloodline.

I just finished the series, and I'm going to give it a thumbs up.

Not that it is a great artistic achievement or anything, but purely for being entertaining. It told a pretty good 12 episode story without being too rushed, and although the ending was open it made sense to stop there.

Title of the series is a bit misleading though, for a series called "Black Blood Brothers" it definitely lacks characters with afros.

Mae... you are completely correct about the title.

I just finished the series today, and I actually think this ending was perfect. It leaves an opening for another season, but if another season never comes, this ending was more than enough for the imagination to fill in the rest if necessary.

I probably feel this way just because my favorite animes have open endings that permit the viewer's own imagination to finish it off... maybe I'm just wierd though...

I'm pretty sure the Black Blood refers to their lineage as Vampires and not their nationailty. :P

I guess I am a bit behind the times since I just watched this series recently. I read on wikipedia that it was based off of a short novel series, so I jumped over to amazon and bought it!

After reading the book I must say the anime did the book no justice...I think we can all agree that the anime was quite unjust in ignoring the plight of the Afro-Mexican, and instead playing up this "Vampire" angle

actually, while they took liberties with some of the finer aspects. I personally think it follows the book quite closely. chapter 2 is nearly there word for word.
