I have a problem with subtitles. Often when I download them, I find that they are timed completely wrong, so I try to download different versions of the subs in question and sometimes I fail to find even one that matches. What I do when I use the subs is to name the sub file the same as the video file that I am playing. I was wondering; is there any program, or hell, any way whatsoever that I can possibly tweak the subtitles so that they start a bit earlier or a bit later so that they match the video file?

there's a tool called subresync, I think it's included in the vobsub/textsub package. You'd load up an external sub file (srt or ssa) and you can shift the whole file to sync things up.

Depends on how "completely wrong" it is though. Like if it's just all shifted a constant amount, or a growing amount over the course of the file, it's fairly easy to fix reasonably. On the other hand, if it's just badly timed in general, you'd probably have to do more work than it's going to be worth doing...

I had the same problem once, with the Shinobi movie. Believe it or not, I manually opened up the srt file with a text editor and edited the timing myself for every line spoken in the movie. Sad, but true. Took me around half an hour I think.

Half an hour? Wow that's pretty quick for a movie...

Anyway, I've just finished watching this Japanese drama entitled "Team" and now I'm absolutely crazy over its theme song.

The song title is "Kaze no muku mama" (風の向くまま) and it's sung by this group called Canna. A really old drama/song (probably in the late 90s?). Does anyone know where I can possibly find this song???

Yo Yallo I've tried but all the links I've got are dead, and I didn't even get a hit with Canna on Jpopsuki. But the official Sony Music site's got the single for sale for ¥210..... so if you have money to spare....

Thanks a million, Psyke!!! Thanks for the effort to help me search around.

I found the official Sony website too, but the downloads can only be accessed from within Japan. *sadface* sigh Guess I'll just have to do without the mp3 then. Maybe I will go cut the audio out from the VCD. Thanks again! ^^

Can somebody help me with finding the Japanese Language Support for Windows on the web?

I re-formated the computer earlier this week, and installed Windows Xp Lite (obviously a hack). Then I try to download the language support "automatically", but it seems Microsoft added extra security.

It won't let me download without an original XP Pro Disc (heck... its not even Pro... its Lite) which I do not have, and the website wants me to "prove" my legality by downloading several check files or something.

So... anybody know where can I get the installer for the Japanese Language Support? Please?

    ---

    EDIT:

    Found it. Thanks anyways.

    Easy one for you guys.

I lost some old CDs I had burned myself and now I'm looking to download the songs, but LimeWire just isn't working very well...

...so can anyone recommend any file-sharing program a la LimeWire or Kazaa? I'm trying WinMX too, but it's definitely not a favorite of mine, so any suggestions are very welcome.

The hardest part about installing SoulSeek is getting the port forwarded-- and even then, Windows should be doing that automatically. SP2's firewall allows all port requests for specified programs.

    But yeah, SoulSeek is better.

Im thinking of adding the ModChip to my ps2.

Those of you who has it... is it safe? won't it harm the lenses? The model doesn't matter? (I have SHCP-3001... I think Im missing a zero...).

They charge me 500 pesos (less than 50 dlls) to add it.

Quick question for any Spanish speakers

How would you say "I ripped off his head" in Spanish? Thanks.

I'll just skip asking why on earth do you want to know that and go straight to the translation.

Hello, I have a question I hope someone can answer. I've been trying to upload some vids to Youtube lately and both times, the sound gets out of sync with the video. I know Youtube asks for "mp3" compression but I've been inserting my own music in via Final Cut or After Effects and I wonder if that affects anything. If anyone happens to know which compression option I should use in either program, that'd be great. Otherwise... ..... ......... yeah.

now i really do need some help this time. I've finally come to the conclusion that one of the biggest reasons I am subpar at school and life and such is because I lack organization. In attempt to amend this shortcoming of mine, I've recently gone out and bought all types of organizing shit for my room, to bring to class.

But the one thing I really need recommendations for a good scheduler/reminder/note application that I can always have on my computer. I've played around with some widgets and shit like that in the past, but there's just a ton of programs out there, and I'd really appreciate some tips or recommendations.

edit to below - wow, thanks a ton deadfire. that program is fucking awesome. i've already got my entire semester inputted and it's going to be a huge daily help with keeping my routine going.
