    Flag

    First episode released by Shinsen:
    http://bt.shinsen-subs.org/%5BShinse...5D.avi.torrent

"In 20xx, a civil war broke out in a small country in Asia is getting hard in spite of dispatch of UN forces. But a picture taken by accident in the battle field accelerates the peace process. It is a picture of a flag. Although they are enemies, they cooperate together to fly it in a sanctuary, and the flag becomes the symbol of the peace. However, just before the peace agreement is achieved, the flag is robbed by an armed extremist group in order to obstruct the truce. UN decides to send SDC (Special Development Command) and a cameraman to record their activities. The cameraman is Shirasu Saeko. She is the cameraman who took the picture of the flag. At first they think the mission is easy because they wear latest armed suits, HAVWC (High Agility Versatile Weapon Carrier), but they get in trouble by unexpected attacks."

watched it and i was from scale of wierdnest 1/10. 7. Anime is composed of Slideshow 30%, from prespetive of visual recording system (video camera, camera webcam, etc) 40% and regular only 30%. It has nice Mecha, and everything else is modern day tech. It grew on me and i like the anime and will continue watching Flag. But for some it could not work.

If it continues like this all the way through, I can predict I will have some troubles digesting the format. It was already slightly bothering me with this first episode. First person view is cool for short scenes, but if the whole series is using the first person view, well...

Nevertheless, it was quite interesting. The series seems to aim for high realism, the mecha included, which is always a very interesting aspect.

And well, what can I say... When a character with a Finnish name is shown, I can't anymore let it go...

wow... the realism in this is incredible. the mecha just feels real and so does everything else. but yea... if it remains 1st person for the whole series, it'll be too weird. For now though, great introduction.

Seems like a potentially great series, but I will wait for more episodes to be released (and by more groups too) before I take the plunge. =)

Shows a bit of promise. This may not be long lived but it looks great. The first person perspective thing doesnt bother me, its nice to see someone at least trying to use anime like they would a camera, to give different prespectives of same shot. Anime isnt film but it is capable of the same and more. I will at least watch a couple more episodes.

In the end this world is naught but a dream. Evil and ambition scatter into the darkness. All that remains is a dubious rumor among the townfolk.

Little rest for the cameramen, except the eternal one for some:

    Episode 2 - Shinsen

Well, now it's at least confirmed the first person view will continue. This episode followed that peculiar trend all the way through. And interestingly enough it bothers less now. I gues it's just a matter of getting used to it. But certainly it makes the story somehow feel more realistic and real, less like a fictional tale.

The mechas seemed pretty nice in action, as well, although the enemy could hardly be called very serious yet...

I liked the episode. The story told from 2 poins of view, photograher (front lines) and camareman (political, urban). Confusing as they bits of information and it feels rendomized.

    Quite a neat episode indeed.

But I don't understand why they first sent the uav, and then flew right away with the Hughes 500 after it... Uhhuh... Why send the safe uav first, and then follow it when they knew heavy resistance was to be expected? Well, it was only a minor glitch in an otherwise expert show, so it doesn't really bother me.

Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".

I only get a 404 when I click that link. And also, the Shinsen home page doesn't talk anything about that episode. I wonder what's going on.

This technically peculiar show continues with the sixth episode:

    Episode 6 - Shinsen

Edit: Ho... Shinsen released a ninja version 2. Link updated.

Edit2: Many letters in the subtitles of version 1 were screwed, thus the version 2. Well, I doubt I will redownload it, anyway. But the episode itself was quite interesting. They certainly have kept the battles close to the reality, and seeing how one of the mechas was trashed and the other couldn't handle the recoil of the big gun undamaged, they aren't any invinsible killing machines. However, the sensors embedded in those things as well as other imaging and scanning technology that got a big role in the ep was a pleasant surprise to me.

I finished watching this series by Arigatou dub rips. This an amazing series as you feel for every character and it doesn't take shortcuts as you feel as creators can kill any character. It is unique story about two photographers and a flag told by cameras anything else is brief 3d person perspective or still pictures. Beware as you need endurence to withstand cameras GUIs that add impact that you not watching anime but looking through your camera or browse pictures that you shot.

Anyway for me this is instant classic and for you this is click(s) away to be one.
