    Random tidbit:

    For the first two episodes or so, the guy who got me started on this series and I joked about how it was executed almost completely like an old-school RPG.
    Then I pointed out that Telliagory looks like Revolver Ocelot of MGS fame; which, in this most recent episode, was reinforced when he delivered, verbatim, a line from the MGS4 trailer

    Le Chevalier D'Eon Licensed by ADV Films (2006-10-31 18:19:20)
    Regarding our earlier post about Le Chevalier D'Eon, Anime News Network has learned that the title has been licensed by ADV Films. When contacted, ADV Films declined to confirm the license. An official announcement, is expected soon. Le Chevalier D'Eon was produced by Production I.G and directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi. It is currently airing every Saturday in Japan on WOWOW, with the 11th episode (of an expected 25) airing this past weekend.

    Very nice indeed. And let's hope that licensing talk won't drop this series out of our reach. I would hate to lose the access to ye olde Europe...

    With eps 8, I like where this series is starting to go. I can make all the parallels I want with GiTS:SAC, but I'll refrain by making only the basic ones. We have one multifaceted conspiracy to overthrow the French government, and now a part of that plot is to assassinate the Empress of Russia.

    One nice touch is Catherine the Great, pre-"Great" of course. Can't wait for the next eps. I know that blond Poet guy is closely related to Lia's death and possibly Lia in some other manner, but they haven't said much about him.

    If it's licensed, I'll probably buy it, but the turnover wait will kill me.

    ah i meant to ask, could anyone let me know if shinsens are good/bad compared to aniyuki? i didnt like shinsens blood+ compared to bakakozou, but they are ahead of aniyuki... thnx.

    Shinsen's version looks fine. I got bored of waiting for #9 and #10, and got them from Shinsen instead. I didn't notice any gross differences. But then again, I'm not very likely to notice subtle differences...

    I guess your watching the h264 versions of yukis.. im just watchin the normal xvids

    anyways, shinsen was doing some h264 at 1920x1080, but it appears they stopped doing that after ep8...

    EDIT: ... ah nevermind looks like shinsen is doing h264 versions still

    This series has interestingly mixed real history and fantasy, keeping many facts intact while adding story elements here and there. In that sense this doesn't lose at all to the edo, bakumatsu, and meiji samurai animes.

    Having said that, what happened at the end of 10 didn't surprise me tremendously, even if I actually was a little surprised it happened right then and in that manner. Nor was episode 11 such a shock. Although anybody could have guessed that probably...
