i have a hunch that the 3rd movie will begin with jack as a captive on that island. Maybe it was just me, that there was something unnatural about that island. It didn't seem like the hideout of some pirates or anything, but more like a passage to the underworld (remember those crows eating the flesh of the prisoners etc).

That would also justify the need for barbosa, as he as already died so he would be familiar with that place.

Huh? Crows have been known to do that in history too. What does that have to do with a passage to the underworld?

I think he was referring to how they prisoners gave no effort to even stop the crows, even those who were alive.

I thought they were all bound or in despair, that's why they didn't do anything.

I'm pretty sure at least one of the prisoners was screaming in agony.
And I mean seriously, what to do? They were probably fatigued too.

I thought that was the leg of the bird he shot.
