Interesting theory and very plausible. However, it's based on a pretty big assumption.

wow, that's really well thought off, but It's more likely that Naruto is the 3rd's grandson than this theory...
I don't think Kishimoto cares enough to plan something like that, it just doesn't seem fit to him... though, with his Sasuke Fetish, nobody can be sure.
Did you read the hole Thread at Narutofan Forums?
I did , and especially the new Chapter of the Manga (314) with the 3 Tengu Statues in the Temple gives hope that this theory "could" be right in many points.
I, for one, thought that it was a brilliantly conceived theory. Even if it turns out not to be the official truth, it still manages to sway me everytime I think about it.
Great idea / concept. To me it seems a little too much since we have not seen anything of this sort yet. Still cool if it works out.
if there is any truth in this theory, then this story will never fucking end....
R.I.P Captain America.
Wow
That was a good read. Even though it’s clear that Kishi borrowed ideas from that story but I don’t think that he will explore the demon side of Uchiha blood. It’s not as far fetched though. We already have people running around with demons inside them. 3rd summoned a demon, so kishi can go in that direction if he wants to and it would make more sense of Uchiha’s abilities and its ties with Kyubi.
That's what I love about the theory - It's completely plausible and fits pretty well into the Naruto universe. Even if it's not completely true, I still agree that Kishimoto must have used the Tengu as an inspiration for many aspects of the Uchiha clan.Originally Posted by Jadugar

If this theory is NOT the case...then I think Kishimoto should step down to this guy. Cause this is good, deep, though provoking, stuff. It all meshes in near perfection. Thankyou for finding that Darkmetal. Its revived my hope in this story, which was seriously diminished when the author decided to let morons libel it into the complete farce that we are served in the weekly anime publications for the past year. If the studio filler writers...hell if writers for television in general all thought like this we would actually have some decent entertainment.
this whole theory is extremly interesting. i wonder how the hyuuga clan fits into this. remember the uchiha clan was said to split of from the hyuuga clan.
wait, I thought that the sharingan was a derivative of bykugan. The clans were already established.Originally Posted by mr3vi1m0nk3y

Many years ago there was a girl from Hyuuga clan who fell in love with an outsider that didn’t belong to the village. She decided to marry herself to the young man despite the strong protests from her own clan. But this man was no ordinary human. In fact, this man was not a human at all. His name was Sojobo. He was the King of Tengu.
Hyuuga + Tengu = Uchiha

I'm aware that this is what the people of Konoha believe, but I wasn't aware that it had been presented as a fact. I was under the impression that it had been presented as a theory (within the story) which is not proven. The reference I recall is in chapter 78 of the manga, in which Kakashi does refer to this belief, but the way in which he said it did seem to suggest that this is an unproven belief that people hold.Originally Posted by mr3vi1m0nk3y
Again, I don't recall that having been stated as a fact. It seems likely, but not established fact. Unless there are other references that I don't recall, I don't see fit to assume this to be true.Originally Posted by darkmetal505
That seems to make complete sense. I hope all of that is true, because it would make the story 1000 times more interesting.
Best naruto speculation theory ever.
I'm really impressed with all the evidence that's used to back this theory up and it wouldn't be unplausible considering how much kishi seems to like to liberally borrow from japanese mythology (I.E. the three sanin's relationship http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiraiya, and of course the nine tailed bichu).
Only thing I don't agree with is I don't think that it's itachi's goal to get the three MS users to revive the Tengu King. It would be really awesome if the reason why the akatsuki were attempting to try and collect all of the bichu was because they were attempting to resurrect the Tengu King. Also Tengu influence would explain why Sasuke's curse seal level 2 forum has those stupid wings.
If any of this turns out to be true then map props for kishi especially if he had this all planned out from the beginning. I guess only time will tell if any of it's true.
Alot of thought and story fit perfectly also interesting. Good read
Very good theory, even if only in part true, it would make the series a whole lot more interesting I think.
Nice read, definitely the best Naruto theory that I've read so far and i liked how he backed it up with plenty of information.
Ash"Now listen up, you primitive screwheads. This... is my BOOMstick"
That was an incredible theory, but there are a few things that don't quite fit.
1) Why did Madara have to team up with Kyuubi? It's more likely that Madara fought alongside his father against the Kyuubi in a struggle of demon against demon. Who knows, maybe the Tengu king was/is one of the tailed beasts that hasn't been revealed yet.
2) Itachi definitely has some purpose in killing his clan other than "testing his container/ability/whatever". That is an incredibly lame excuse and doesn't fit with Kishi's expository style. I don't think his purpose has anything to do with having 3 MS users, but it definitely involves the Tengu king and the Uchiha past since Itachi pointed Sasuke to the shrine after he let Sasuke live.
In the end, the shrine drawn in the manga (and shown briefly in the anime) is the strongest evidence to back this up, as Kishi has revealed practically nothing about the Uchiha past yet - but I'm guessing he will. I suppose we have to wait until Itachi makes another appearance in the manga, then we might get some answers. Kudos to darkmetal for finding that thread.
