I cant wait. I always loved Transformers as a kid, almost every series. I hope they dont make a shitty movie.
Damn. The storyline for this seems like it was made by a Naruto filler writer... on crack.
Beagle 2 somehow survives and gets attacked by a Transformer on Mars. So they send two more, which last several years (and are still up there) without being attacked. I bet they're gonna pull bs that the two Mars rovers are up there looking for Transformers, not studying the geology of the red planet.

I'm going to have to disagree, I have a sinking feeling that they'll ruin everything we liked about Transformers somehow. I've seen some quotes talking about how they wanted to make the best Transformers move theycould, and that's why it took so long to make but....they're making a Transformers movie about people...wtf! Who cares about Spike and his cock loving girlfriend, I watch Transformers for the Transformers...trying to humanize it would just be dumb, but I feel like that's exactly what they'll try to do. Here's to hoping I'm totally wrong though
I want to say something about the whole "Michael Bay's version vs. Generation 1" argument.
And that's simply, shut up. Seriously. We all know that they don't look very similar to Generation 1 stuff. So what? Michael Bay as come out and said he's doing a more realistic version than the cartoons. Things will be different. Personally, I think the designs are very interesting.
Sure, Megatron looks nothing like his predecessors. But how often does he change in the series itself? Compare Generation 1 Megatron with Armada. I think Armada is a retarded design.
In my eyes, it makes sense for them to seem to different. After all, these are aliens from another world. And that's why he was going for. To have their Cybertronian version look drastically different from anything we might expect to make them seem more alien. Personally, I think the new Megatron is scary looking, and will be interesting to see what he does with him.
Yes, this movie will be drastically different from any of the previous Transformers, but I'm looking forward to it. I mean, it will be very different from "Hey look, a Decepticon, quick shot at ground under him!" and "Gotta catch them all!" points of previous incarnations. Give the movie a chance.
And before any one says "But it's Michael Bay!" I personally thought "The Rock" was a good movie. If a director can make at least one good movie, it means he has some good in him and may actually hit the mark every now and then.
If you don't like the designs because they simply look bad, I can understand that. I just want people to stop comparing them, especially when Michael Bay has already said he's going for something different than the original series.

And about the fan-base stuff. I may be in the minority, but i hate watching movies of this i loved as a child and therefore do not watch them unless a lot of my friends are going (in that case i'm just going to hang out with my friends). So far i've hated almost all movie adaptations of the book's i've read and cartoons i used to watch. I do NOT watch them more than once 'cause it usually pissed me off the first time and i would NEVER get anything related to the movie ever again. This, just like the others, will be a movie that i will forgo from seeing.

I saw the movie and it is mostly about Hot Rot becoming Rodimus Prime. Wasn't all that great b/c it had incredibly bad pieces of music placed at the most awkward of times. And Optimus dies in it, which sucks.
