Originally, he picked up the symbiot during the Secret Wars miniseries back in the 80s...I guess with every new version of the Spider-Man story there's a new origin for the symbiot.

That sneak preview was awesome. They gave the audience the right about of drama and action, which would probably make everyone want even more.
Will Harry ever understand.. if he's alive?

I hope he's dead. What an emo fag. I also think its kind of dumb how the sand guy is uncle Ben's "real" killer. What are the chances that Spider-Man gets the two confused and also that his uncles killer just happens to be lucky enough to be one of the few to be genetically experimented on. But other than that this movie looks great.
I doubt he's dead. They need to develop Harry's character a little more so he can join the good guys.Originally Posted by RedX1z
Harry will probably team up with Peter to take out Sandman. He'll realize the error of his ways, that Peter is his friend, etc etc.
I think I know precisely what I mean

its almost here!!!! i cant see it on friday but i'm going to see it on monday...
i'm excited about the previews too, hoping they're not lame.
I too am excited about seeing this, the last preview with some footage of Venom attacking Spidey was awesome!
Only problem is that it will sell out everywhere... I'm not sure if I'll be able to get tickets.
NO SPOILERS IN NEXT POST. ( nothing that we dont already know anyway)
Well i just saw the movie, and well...
It pretty much sucks... even spiderman 1 was better then this overhyped piece of trash.
Seriously i was frustrated at so much stuff in the movie, everything was really rediculous and some stuff even looked really retarded. end of rant.
NOT!!!!! This movie was FREAKING AWESOME, omg it was soooooooo goood, damn i'm really impressed by it, it totally blew away spiderman 2, the story, the action, the gfx, the characters.
Everything was soo great damn, bruce campbell and stan lee included . Oh and lot's of hot women in it too >_> LOTS.
Even the part with bad boy parker was done really really good, and i'm glad the game actually omitted a lot of stuff, so i was pleasantly suprised with some things.
Sandman was perfect, absolutely perfect, from the char to the gfx, it actually made me think how awesome a well done live action naruto movie would look like, with gaara.
My only Gripe was Venom, he never ever ever ever once said... "WE ARE VENOM" he kept reffering to himself as "I", which sucked sooo much, also he didn't have the double voice...
Other then that.. ACE movie, go see it, in IMAX if you have the chance

R.I.P Captain America.
*Carnage Holds tight to his two tickets for IMAX this friday*
Cant.....wait.....
Okay...I'm going to go ahead and disagree with darkshadow on this one...Spiderman 3 was quite enjoyable but I don't think it was a very good movie.
The positive: The action scenes were amazing, and really pushed the limits of anything I've ever seen before, I think it may have had some of the best action I've ever seen in cinema. There were also several good one liners and scenes, mostly involving Harry or Dark Peter. There we several very funny situational moments, Stan Lee and John Campbell's especially.
The Negative: After spending $499,999,500US on amazing action there was only $500 left for screenplay and acting. Usually I can just ignore this stuff and believe it's all well and good in the interim between battles, but not this time. The plot was complete nonsense, the behaviors of the characters rigidly followed soap opera scripts and most of the acting that didn't involve anger was just miserable. And also, after Peter starts to get seduced by the suit he proceeds to go on the wackyist 'I'm the best guy ever' dance adventure of all time, this pretty much ruined the movie for me.
All in all I'd still recommend going to see it because the sfx are just that cool, but don't go in thinking it'll be the greatest movie of all time, and to get the most out of the experience I suggest not listening to anything anyone is saying unless there's a fight going on or Dark Peter or Harry is talking.
Addendum: I know, I know suspension of disbelief but The crane...why would it just magically stop all its nonsense as soon as Spidey saved that chick...THIS MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL!
The operater yelled CUT THE GENERATOR, i guess they were able to cut the generator after spidey saved the girl, thus stopping the crane.
The dance bit, well he WAS in a jazz club, what was he supposed to do? stand on his hands?
And how can you say the plot was nonsense? all of it was based on TAS and the comics, except for the end, actually i can vaguely recall venom doing the same thing on tv in TAS.
After them messing up venom and black suit, i was delighted to see all the other stuff that was in the comics aswell.
I guess you viewed it as just a movie, and not a comic book adaptation.

I was trying to contain my laughter when Mary Jane broke up with Peter. The police chief's daughter was very good looking though.
You're right DS, I didn't think of it like that, part of the problem was that I went with a drunk uppity elitist, who pointed out every thing that wasn't oscar worthy about the movie the whole cab ride back. But whatever, I'm stil glad I saw it. Also the stupid dance I was talking about was whatever nonsense he was doing on the street when he got his new clothes and moved his hair over his forhead (Does that actually mean something special?).
Anyway I really enjoyed most of the things he did as Dark Peter, especially the phone conversation with Dr. Conners (Spiderman 4 - Birth of the Killer Crock (with guest appearance by one or mor of the Shocker, Sandman again, Kingpin, Scorpion, or maybe Rhino (please no!)) while Ursula was pouring her little heart into him.
