This arc has officially gone from "pretty good" to "awsome".
Badguys, being defeated by strategy instead of Rasengan, MORE cool new powers(I mean, the ninja shark was awsome enough, but the magnetic dude? That rocks!) Plus I really detest the princess! Which is amazing that a filler character inspires any emotion at all!
Naruto being swung around by his forehead protector is an instant classic I say.
I have to agree. I don't even remember when I last time really enjoyed watching a filler episode, but I did enjoy watching this. And the arc as a whole seems to be holding together truly surprisingly well.
The strategy wasn't something I expected, based on so many filler arc before, but there it came nonetheless. The bad guy was a bit too stupefied, but such things can be forgiven. And Like DE said, the magnetic guy is a cool idea, and the execution so far hasn't been bad. And based on the preview, he will also stay badass.
The princess is annoying and would desperately need a bitch slap - too bad it was Hinata that was with her; you can't really imagine Hinata slapping anybody, not to mention a princess. Still, that was all truthful to Hinata's character, so it's not bad. As well as the princess; her character seems to stay consistent. Incidentally the princess also offered one of the funniest scenes of the episode:
"I'll definitely survive!" And then next moment the cliff edge crumbles and she falls down out of sight...
omfg
Ninja shark? Yeah, a little stupid, and watching them getting chased through a forest by piranhas was bizarre, but I still liked the fight with the water guy, especially how it didn't rely on stupid Rasengan. Didn't someone say last episode discussion that Chouji would probably save the day by eating all the fish/drinking the water or something like that? A silly strategy, but strategy nonetheless.
"Hurry up and save the princess!" Anyone get Mario Brothers flashbacks at that line?
Naruto running and pumping his arms? Actually not using the fairy ninja running style anymore i see
Hinata getting pwned was the best part, no doubt about it. I love that the princess had no hesitation on ditching her once she learned of her affection for Naruto. Naruto's reaction was like spitting on the wound too. You know it's bad when Naruto of all people criticizes you for not acting like a ninja.
Wait, never mind, Naruto getting swung around by his forehead protector was the best part, no doubt about it. But why reveal your technique? It's not like Naruto's smart enough to figure it out most of the time on his own. ("It's like, every time there's something metal he can direct his weapon at it or change the direction of the metal object. What is that all aboutbayo?")
Chouji's fatass can hide his chakra even from hinata's byakugan? I smell plot device.
And... shock and amazement... the next episode looks like it will be even better.
Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".
Well, that's hard to judge now, but still two things need to be remembered: Naruto, Chouji, the flower ninja, and the water ninja run for quite a distance during the fight, and you could assume they didn't run to the same direction Hinata was escaping with the hime-sama. And that of course was the other thing: Hinata and the princess were running somewhere. So, all in all, there could be several kilometers between Hinata and Chouji. Enough to make the byakugan useless.Originally Posted by masamuneehs

haha the shark was awsome! this was indeed another great filler episode and for a strange reason i wish the princess died in that fall...
Yeah, the princess needs cancer. Basically, she's got it in her head that Nano country will survive as long as she does. Which is rediculous. If you sacrifice all your ninjas to save yourself, how the fuck are you going to reestablish a country by your no-money-no-ninjaskill having self?
And she's once again deluded herself into thinking it was the Konoha ninjas mission to save her, which it isn't. I loved when Hinata sorta went off on her. I wanted her to say at the end of that "Naruto is more deserving to lead a village than you, and he's almost retarded!"

Let's pray this arc stays good, and let's pray that part two ends shortly afterwards to leave the fillers on a high point.
Whoaaaah, magnetic guy.
Good filler episode and arc, as it's already been said several times.
I thought the entire fight with the Water guy was just completely rediculous. On the plus side it was so stupid it was atleast amusing. I can't imagine many times in your life that you will get to see a chase seen involving fish without legs on land. Although I had many issues with the Piranha's attacking Naruto in the bubble yet absolutely no damage to him or his clothing was done in said attack when they could strip a cow in under 10 seconds.
That aside the Magnet ninja seems interesting although his power was beyond obvious about 2 seconds into it. I am a bit annoyed at how they have completely ignored Hinata's Byakugon in so many ways considering she can still see trails people took in a hurry even if she can't see people.
Also Finally for gods sake the Leaf ninja REALLY need to kill off opponents instead of leaving them laying around crippled.
Man, I can't wait to see what happens in the next episode(s). Which I find wierd that I am saying that for a filler, esp. going by the recent ones we have had. But yeh this episode/arc is good...so far. This has to be the longest that we havent seen the rasengan since he learnt it.
But, did they just fall into the stereotypical Hollywood villain character? Where they reveal all their secrets to the hero, only to be owned by the hero in the end. I was like, for goodness sake why are you telling Naruto all that and giving your advantage away. Isn't that part of being a ninja? Try to use the advantages you have to the fullest against your opponents....But then again Naruto has been knocked the **** out, and it looks like Hinata will be doing the main fighting in the next episode. So since she didnt hear the guy and naruto didn't say anything, its still a "play to your hidden strengths" match.
So fun parts...definitely Naruto getting swung around like a human kite was fun-nneee, Hinata going off on the Hime, I almost thought that she was going to slap her and I was like: "Yeah, you can do it" ( a la Waterboy). I do think though that Chouji should have seriously sashimied and sushied that Shark, I guess he must have been full :-)
Uh, you guys like the current filler arch?
Itīs as bad as the hoshikage-arch >_<
Every little ninja now has unlimited chakra access, Kuchiyose no Jutsu is a totally mainstream technique now, and Naruto loses to such random guys....hooray....not...
So far this has been nowhere as bad as the star arc. Even if this seemingly is just as epic - we are talking about the fate of a country here, this doesn't try so desperately to be epic like the miserable star arc. Instead we have just seen Naruto, Chouji and Hinata do little things ninjas should be doing, like fighting, guiding, scouting, protecting.
And Naruto appearing to lose to random guys isn't bad if those random guys aren't as pitiful as in some of the past filler arcs. This arc has so far shown some of the best filler villains. These guys are straight robbers, murderers, pillagers, power abusers - they don't pretend to be misunderstood, tragic figures who only think the best of their country or the best of some mistreated child or other such things that simply more likely don't work than work in short arcs.
I've liked this arc so far because I don't expect the fillers be as good as the main storyline, and thus I can look at these relatively and try to see them what they are worth by themselves, and not stick to only comparing them to the manga based stuff. I wouldn't waste my time watching fillers, if I automatically thought they must suck, now would I?
I'm taking my words back. We have come back to the fillers nonsense trail.
"When I was a child I drank iron" -- This explains everything
"These stones have steel" I guess he really wanted to say "This steel has stones" cause he moves tons only with his magnet powers.
"I noticed that earlier you water-pumping-guy didnt take this rocky path cause its dry, thats why we came here and you follow us because... you didnt come here earlier."
Hokage fought Orochimaru made a river and thats hokage level, even anbu crapped. This guy moves lots of water at his will (making it float) does 3 kuchiyose in a row (That shark with the bandage and the ninja coat was amazing, best filler monster thus far) and kept pumping water as he ran. He is god.
Im thinking that maybe these guys have the X gen and that explains everything.

I was annoyed by this too. Maybe not as far as killing, but at least tie the jerk up.Originally Posted by DDBen

exemple: can you realy say " Money has me " or are you going to say " i have money ", of course you will take the second choice because the first one is imposible, money cant own you alone, and steel cant have stone, stone have the steel
if he said that, are you sure it's not just a careless translation error? (haven't watched the episode.)
"This mountain has a lot of steel within it, making it my ultimate battle-field."
i dont see an error in translation in there
Best part was watching the princess ( a fucking princess! ) lecture Hinata about ninja ethics and then hitting her in the back of her head with a stone. And yeah, having Naruto out of all people tell her it wasn't very ninja-like... well.
... Can you say OWNED?

/ No, you warrant no villain's exposition from me.
