Understand this is filler and as such ichigo can NOT gain any new relevant powers to fight Aizen at a later date. Filler must be self contained as many future fights have already been written. In addition any future powers would have to be more powerful/relevant then any that could be granted in the filler as they are gained at a later date. Basically its the same reason that ichigo's sword never reverts to form 1 and is instead always in its released form that goes against how all other Shinigami are.

Fair enough that we have the same complaint but to me that specific complaint makes these fillers that much worse. The writting so far has all been either a direct rip off of movie plots and problems as shown in the mod soul arc where it was so bad people acurately predicted the next movie that would be ripped off before it happened. On top of that the current arc just makes use of all the characters in ways that just don't work. Several of the best students in class are skipping school all the time out of nowhere. Ichigo's family and all of the classmates are not involved. Instead we have all of Soul Societies actions working in direct contradiction to how they were portrayed earlier and I simply can't believe that with the current state of things that all of the resources of SS can be redirected to the bound in the way they have been in this arc. Plus why would a 4th seat from the medical squad be sent for a investigation in the first place and where is the Afro guy who had been monitoring the area during the SS Arc in the first place who obviously would have more knowledge of the area then say Renji who if anything should be practicing his Bankai and be being prepped to fill one of the 3 empty captain seats as he's the only vice captain to be shown as capable of doing so.

Fumoffu style light hearted episodes that played up the aspects of the show that had been ignored during the Soul society arc for me would have definatly been a much better solution. People wouldn't have to get stronger all the time and you could have advanced characters without disturbing the plot. Had they done this instead of what we got I would be much more inclined to enjoy these fillers.
