thats sweet. i would watch it
ty psj for this sig
God, I love the Simpsons. A few of the original writers will be working on this movie, so it should be really funny.
God willing.

No matter what happens, it'll be a disappointment, simply cuz nothing could hope to exceede the awesomeness of the old simpsons.
Ofcourse its possible that due to the extreme crapiness of the last couple seasons, the movie (especially if the old writers are working on it) will look that much better.
Can't wait to see.
I pretty much have the same opinion. For about 4 seasons now the Simpons has sucked. Royally. I might have cared about this in 4 years ago, but now I'm pretty apathetic about it. I don't think it will be very good.
Though, the fact that samsonlonghair says they're using some of the original writers does give me some hope. I really used to be the biggest Simpson fan.
I fear for this movie so terribly - it will be the final nail in the coffin (if the series isn't already over by then). I wish the show could have ended with some dignity but they have given it up in pursuit of bigger paychecks. What was once my favourite series has become less than a shadow of what it once was.
That said, I'll still watch the movie of course. If some of the original writers are working on it then that's a slight comfort.

Well I do know they signed a two year contract for the series so, there will be at least another couple seasons. Though it's not like it matters, the new stuff isn't funny at all. It seems more like throw a bunch of people together and see if they can come up with an original idea and then animate it. They always fail though.
haha! it come out the day of my birthday! (that such a nice gift )
the trailer is somehow funny
*Thread Necromancery!*
watched it yesterday, I've enjoyed it more than any movie i've watched in the past year.
Funny from 00:00:01 to the end, and laughs at al gore.
but it was really short, about 80 mintues...

Yeah a buddy just watched this movie as well and he totally recommends it. He pretty much said the same as Boo there .. FUNNY the whole way but short.Originally Posted by Death BOO Z
It was good, but disappointing too, even though I was prepared for it to be. For me it had some funny moments but there were just so many missed opportunities. As in, you think something funny will happen but it moves to the next scene.
*Sigh* I would have liked the movie to be reminiscent of the days of Mr Plow, the Ice Hockey episode, Clown College and Homer becoming a teacher, just to name a few. In order to be funny, it seems that today's episodes (and the movie) just rely on Homer's "big kid" attitude and the fact that he always gets hurt. Gone are the days of the subtle, clever jokes that made you think. Like, what the hell was with Marge washing the dish in the burning house? And the Comic Book Guy's line about his successful life? Not funny. Maybe it's just me.
It was a nice touch to see the original ambulance that crashed into the tree all those years ago when Homer jumps Springfield Gorge on the skateboard.
Overall, entertaining. I didn't expect it to be how I truly wished it to be, and because of that I wasn't totally disappointed.

A good movie, if you still like The Simpsons. It was like watching a whole season in 90 minutes.
So basically, it's more similar to the new seasons than the older ones.Originally Posted by Raven
Yeah, I'm not seeing this. The recent episodes piss me off more than they entertain me.
<@Terra> he told me this, "man actually meeting terra is so fucking big", and he started crying. Then he bought me hot dogs
Oh, absolutely, yes. I long for the old days.Originally Posted by XanBcoo

I'm probably not going to see it (in theaters) either, only because I know it'll be more like the newer ones, which have been a complete disappointment in comparison to the older ones (like seasons 3-8). I'm sure there will probably be a moment where I'll snicker, but definitely not bust out laughing every 2 minutes. *sigh* I miss that.
Edited: I just watched a horrible cam rip of it and it was exactly what I was expecting. First and foremost it is definitely not worth seeing in the theaters, IMO. For those of you who aren't as keen on the newer seasons, it's pretty much like that, but one of the better ones (which isn't all that great to be honest). Basically, I would've preferred the writing to be like it used to; more clever, witty and subtle entertainment. And even with the few laughs that I got, it was no where close to how good it could've been.

Well I was too young to be watching the Simpsons in 89 since I was only about 4 years old. I would say I started watching when I was about 10, which was about 1995 ish. But of course I couldn't truly appreciate the humor back then. It wasn't until a few years ago that I started to religiously watch the reruns they play mon-fri, and hoping for them to show an episode within or before the 8th season. I'm 21 now and I hate when they play anything beyond season 8. I pretty much just don't bother to watch it.

I have to say I was excited about this movie coming out. I went to see if finally with my brother the other day. I really loved the movie but it kinda left me with the re-used joke, yeah great watching the movie for the first time, but most likely wont go back to see it again in theaters feeling.
Watched the movie few days agoand the only thing I can say: AMAZING! For those who havent seen it yet, stay for the credits and you will have a suprise....
I haven't bothered watching it yet. I stopped watching Simpsons years ago, even though it's my favorite series of all time, animated or otherwise. Like anyone cares, right?
“For God will not permit that we shall know what is to come... those who by some sorcery or by some dream might come to pierce the veil that lies so darkly over all that is before them may serve by just that vision to cause that God should wrench the world from its heading and set it upon another course altogether and then where stands the sorcerer? Where the dreamer and his dream?”
Just finished it. It wasn't bad, not great either. It was funnier than I anticipated. To be expected, the beginning where the plot was extremely undefined were most of the funny moments. Once it became about saving Springfield, there were very few funny moments.
LaZie made this...a long time ago.
