Although....who the fuck hires a ninja when they are shorthanded construction workers? I mean...that really pisses me off when I think about it. For what it must cost to hire a ninja, couldn't you hire, like...100 peasants to do shit like that? It's not like Naruto knows anything about construction. So you have the same expertise either way.
EDIT: I suppose I can't really blame the filler writers for that one though. Since Kishimoto is the one who wrote ninjas getting hired to do shit like pulling weeds and walking dogs.

They have explained early on that the village gets missions from things as lame as garbage collecting to as high priority as assassinations.
Although it WAS a funny ep, I feel ripped off.
I had many hopes for Jiraiya returning but then he leaves again with another lame excuse...
Hoshigakure... another village no one knows about... oh well.
Hiring naruto is almost like hiring 100 peasants, if you count the shadow clone technique and his stamina, i think it would cost less cause "D" rank missions(i suppose that is what this is) don't pay much. so its kinda perfect for him.
And thinking about it, Tsunade did say that Konoha's power was cut in half when the village was attacked and that everyone had to work twice as hard, also ninja had to be spread thin to make up for it.... and being that Naruto is who he is, gets all the shitty one.
also kinda explain the solo mission thing.
well the other questions i have i think i will have to wait and see...

This episode was not too bad...it was pretty funny at moments. The Raengan comment was priceless.
i just watched this episode and i was cracking up at some parts of it.
Obviously the 'Rasengan is becoming some kind of cheap technique' was the highlight, and some of Jiraiya's nosebleeds were pretty damn funny too.
And the seriousness of the Courier Ninja, oh man they cracked me up. I just wish they had some kind of jutsus: 'Junk Mail Barrage', 'Paper Cut Shurikens', 'Seal Jutsu (using a giant stamp/envelope)' would all have been laugh out loud funny shit...

I didnt find this episode as funny as some of you. It really saddens me to see rasengan becoming some kind of boat engine...

whats ticking me off though is that they're inventing all of these new ninja clans/villages and no naruto fan site has them up yet. its as-if the makers of naruto are doing this stuff on the spot rather than plannig the episode out.
lets just hope this stops soon. i wanan see te new orochimaru
Although I could almost be sick by the lame storylines over the past few months, I agree that Naruto's line on the boat was priceless and I got a mild laugh by the episode overall. We're almost there hopefully, so lets just hope this is all coming to and end and never happens again!
