Another good one. Amazing they haven't fucked this up yet. Though it stinks the Shino fight didn't have a conclusion. Good to have it confirmed that these guys are the guys from the exams.
Also interesting that they are tying this in with the lamentable Mizuki arc sort of by showing more of Orochimaru's animal transmutation research at work.
Anyone else think that guy with the sunglasses looks like Batou?
i just watched the end of this episode (with realy low low sound lol) it suck that it end while they search for an exit, at least Ino do something compared to sakura who seem to only know how to cry...

Yes. It seems this arc continues just nicely. It has a history lesson feeling to it. The action is quite restricted and calm, with quite a lot of talking and reminiscence. Not bad. It's not really that often that they have reined in hyperactive Naruto.

I think you are right about the amount of remaining episodes. That is if they don't tie this to another plot, like going after Orochi again. Though I really can't see how they could continue with another filler arc after this exellent one. Maybe we will get the Kakashi gaiden which I have heard you speak of.
Since when can Ino manipulate peoples bodies without possesing them? This would mean that Shikamaru is useless from now on, since Ino can do the same thing without shadows.

I think she did it during the baka brothers arc. But her father had shown the technique during the invasion of Konoha, so at least there is some basis to her learning how to do it. Besides, Shikamaru can kill people with his shadows now, so he's not useless. And he can stop multiple people, where I think Ino can only do it to one.Originally posted by: el_boss

While you are right, it's still questionable if the method is right. A story can't be stretched artificially without the quality dropping. Well, of course we haven't actually yet seen any clear indication the end would be in sight already, but I just got that sort of feeling, because the mystery was solved, and the bastion of evil was destroyed. It seems likely all that remains is to capture that mad med ninja scientist and set the monster girl free, one way or another (damn I already despaired when Naruto started his "we are the same" explanation, but that was cut short, fortunately).Originally posted by: Ero-Fan

Hmm... With all the talk about Shikamaru and Ino, I think it would be time to get a Shikamaru and Temari filler arc...
the episode was actually pretty good despite its little inconsistencies
some good, some bad. The Scientist guy had a really pretty good plan. An underwater army would be incredible (until planes are developed), but then he goes and blows up his own lab? He'd better have some backup plan...
Oro isn't there? So the scene with Sasuke was just a flashback of sorts... Well, guess they can't go mucking up the actual storyline...
Disappointed that we didn't get to see more of Shino's fight. And how did Ino hit the StretchArmstrong ninja and not Naruto? Oh well, still was OK for a filler. Not enough action for me (and what the fuck is up with trapdoors?), seeing as how there were three fights and we saw little of any of them.
I have a bad feeling about the next episode...

Oro might have very well left right before the Konoha bunch arrived. We saw a scene where Orochimaru said somebody's arriving. It's likely he sensed Anko's seal. The scientist was just lying to Anko. After all, Oro doesn't really need Konoha people following his tracks too closely, unless he has planned some use for them (like being test subjects). This time he just wanted to avoid contact, apparently, which makes sense since these are fillers.

Yes this ep was awesome, the only thing I wonted them to show was Anko fighting the lion beasts. I thought those were bigger versions of the things from FMA. The way Ino owned that stretch guy was pretty funny.

yea well i'm hoping that these "filler arcs" include the kakashi gaiden. didn't kishimoto say in that interview that part 2 of naruto would be in anime form in the spring 2006. so kakashi gaiden is included right? so there's like 09 or 10 episodes left of filler. at least 6 could be used for the kakashi gaiden (maybe more to connect the current water-monster filler arc back to konoha and kakashi looking down at _ _ _ _ _ 's stone...)
Well DB says we are at 8 as well as our countdown has it placed at either 8 or 9 so not many left. Also did they say the gaiden would be during the filler season or not?. I don't remember
Anyways this one was good although I wanted to see Anko's fight as it looked like she owned those monsters good
