The Tokyopop site says that they will release Volume 1 of Another Birth at 13th of JuneOriginally Posted by RyougaZell
Those novels, do they follow the story from BlackRose's eyes or is it just that she explanains some of the things that happened in the games?
In general, do the novels(including AI buster) have a good story, and are they readable(being a manga/anime based novel)?
I just ordered the box set of the Legend of the twilight bracelet manga
Back to roots: Is the ASource version watchable, or should I wait for a bigger group to pick it up?(I'm not really a fan of 'speedsubs')
Just watched the episode. Well the series seems to off to a slow start just like .hack//SIGN which is good. The anime seems to have started off before the events of the G.U. game but I won't know that for sure until the game comes out later this year. Though Tri Edge is a big mystery at the moment I am more interested in what that transformation Haseo went though in the ending is about. Can't wait till the next ep comes out.
Harima Kenji:
ANOTHER BIRTH indeed takes place during the games in BlackRose's perspective.
Without spoiling much, the very first chapter shows how Akira (BlackRose) choose the keywords "Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground" for Kazu, her little brother, who asked her to choose for him.
Basically it shows scenes from the real world, and parts where BlackRose was not available, like during the first half of volume 3 of the games.
It has 4 volumes, 1 for each game.
AI BUSTER has a great and deep narrative, sadly it commits great mistakes in translation, like naming Lios as Ryos, or naming Ohka as Orca.
Why would Ohka appear is she is a Legend of Twilight character?
Because AI BUSTER 2 is half book continuation of the events of the first novel, then the other half takes places after the games, before Udeden (Legend of Twilight / Tasogare no UDEwa no DENsentsu), and during Udeden.
There is another novel, called ZERO that takes place between SIGN and INFESTATION (games), seems TokyoPop is going to publish it after ANOTHER BIRTH.
I can't wait for June...
FelixZeroAlastor:
Sadly with all the information regarding .hack//GU spoilers are inevitable. Roots indeed takes place before GU, as the games will start at the very end of the series. I already know the premise of the games, but I won't mention it... and I advise you to not search for it... the games will not come out in english soon, so better enjoy the series for now.
Im currently downloading the episode, at 65%, so I wont be watching it until tomorrow night (had to download Otome 26 and xxxHOLiC first), so I do not know about the transformation you mention... unless its the same one as the games... hmmm
Only read the first AI Buster yesterday, enjoyed it quite a lot, cool to hear more manga and novels are coming out as well as the new games.
First episode was pretty promising, although the asource subs were so small it was a bit of a struggle to read them.

hmph, nobody checking the torrents at this hour?
two new groups have released .hack//Roots subs
Anime Nation Classic (AN-Classic) has released episode 1
hack//Roots - episode 1 - AN Classic
LuPerry.com has released both episodes 1 and 2 in "high quality" mkv. No idea who or what this group is but I'm steering clear of them until I actually know what they're all about. here's the links regardless for those who are desperate for speed subs:
Hack//Roots - episode 1 - mkv - Luperry
Hack//Roots - episode 2 - mkv - Luperry
-edit Wow there's only 1 seeder for just about all of these releases at this time... must hav been uploaded just as I logged on.
Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".
They are OK, some grammar errors and a few spelling ones. Nothing major.
Never heard of any of those groups.
Man... seems no major group is going to try and sub this new hack.
Oh well...
If anyone downloads those versions please post screenshots or your thoughts on the sub quality.
Animesource's mp4 version was so-so
Luperry was good quality visual wise but the subs have some pretty poor grammar/spelling at some parts. OK to watch if you just want a speed sub.
Episode 2 by AnimeSource

A bit late, but I think they had problems with their website.
Episode 3 is here by LuPerry
x264 http://www.deadfrog.us/uploads/%5BLu...5D.mkv.torrent
Xvid http://www.deadfrog.us/uploads/%5BLu...5D.mkv.torrent
Series seems to start to pick up with this one.
I haven't watched this yet.
So...how is it so far (compared to the rest of the hack series)?
This series centers more its attention upon The World being "a game", while the other series centered around Tsukasa, the coma victims, or Aura.
So far (2 eps watched) Im liking its pace. Its similar to SIGN, and from the very start they have shown an objective, finding The Key of the Twilight.
Don't search info on the game GU though, it will only spoil you big time (although those spoilers makes me want to see this series even more).
Episode 4:
http://animesource.rpganime.net/Torr...5d.mp4.torrent
It was a very good episode for us hack fans.
Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground is finally shown, now dubbed as a Lost Ground.
The Legend of Aura is beginning to be retold.
The Guild system is showing its fruits.
And the PK's keep rising.
Wonder what's Haseo's "power"
Well, Kite, or a look-a-like, is in the opening. I'm thinking it has something to do with that.
For all you awesome people, it's just Phoenix. The numbers are just the amount of times people misspell it.
I actually know who is him, and what he does. That from reading about .hack//GU, but it is a total spoiler that ruins all of .hack//ROOTS... so yeah... Im kinda watching it already knowing the damn ending =(Originally Posted by Phoenix20578

episode 5 is out by the way...
Since AnimeSource's tracker kinda died (and their subs were to small) I switched to Shinsen-Subs. And they've only subbed until ep 3.Originally Posted by BioAlien
