I don't know how the TV series ended, but I'm pretty sure this is good news... I assume that this is a sequel continuing the story where the TV left off...

Just based on the first ep, the animation is a definite improvement from the crappy stills with a single pinwheeling racket that was so popular in the TV series =P It's the National Tournament so the setup is already pretty exciting... for some reason in this ep they're not so subtle with the Tezuka worship. The shot with Oishi blushing at Tezuka's entrance was kinda funny

First episode was pretty good, I wonder how good Echizen is going to be on this tournament considering he was pretty much kicking Lleyton Hewitt's ass in the US Open.

Also, the next two episodes (2 and 3) should come out on DVD in two months or so, with every DVD coming out every two months until episode 13, each DVD containing two episodes.

I wondered about that too, but it's PoT where anything improbable can become a sincere possibility But man, a 2-month gap between a couple of eps is gonna be frustrating...

I'm so confused with what's going on with this. Saizen released 13 episodes, but there hasn't been any others after that. Shinsen just released episode 1. How many episodes is this supposed to be, and why aren't they subbing more of this? Surely there are more than 13 episodes out.

edit: Man oh man this is confusing....mostly due to the releases made so far. Lets see. The National Championship OVAs are 1-13 if I'm correct, with episode 13 being the one where Ryoma beats Atobe.

The National Semifinal OVAs are 14 onwards. I think I have that right. But I wish subbers would release these OVAs in order. Some subbers have done some episodes, and others skip around...

well, I don't even care anymore... I started dropping series, and PoT was one of the first to go. It doesn't go anywhere, and I hardly enjoy it at all.
