Sounds like the continuation of Gundam Origin. Guess we can expect an anime of this in like 10 years![]()
Sounds like the continuation of Gundam Origin. Guess we can expect an anime of this in like 10 years![]()
Just finished episode 3. Kamille is still a dumb, way too reckless kid, but maybe the death of his mom will wisen him up a bit.
I love the rest, though. All those adult characters are great, such a nice contrast to modern anime where kids and teenagers are the only smart ones. Wondering why Bright ended up on the side of these terrible Titan-guys, though. This is what you defeated Zeon for? :/
The animation quality is also a nice step up from the first Gundam.
PS: The continued slaps are hilarious.
Are you watching the series or the OVA/movies?
If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
Watching the whole of Gundam series from the beginning. Finally finished the first anime (where Amura becomes Gundam-pilot aboard the Trojan Horse), now continuing with Zeta Gundam, the series. The movies are compilations afaik and I've read from many people that the TV-series is better than the movies.
Episode 4:
For all the dumb overreacting, NOW Kamille choose to quite underreact, considering his mom just got killed. lol. I wish he would have done more, like "I swear I will kill all members of the GIANTS", and he left the guy responsible for the death off the hook way too quickly. I wouldn't have listened to anyone in that situation and crushed at least that asshole.
What I really like right now about this anime is the more even, balanced setup of fighters. Now, maybe this will change, but in the original Gundam, it was Amuro and then nobody, the entire fate of the heroes rested on his shoulders. At the end of episode 4 of Zeta Gundam, however, we have a team consisting of Kamille, Char, Emma, as well as the crew of that ship, and all of them make a more than capable impression on me. It feels more plausible, grounded in reality, for this team to achieve great things.
episode 7:
I understand that Kamille won, because he's a newtype. But the fight really failed to show what exactly made him superior to Lila. We knew that she's one of the best pilots of the enemy side, so seeing her lose to Kamille who didn't do anything special was kind of a letdown. She kept shooting at him, but missed, slashed with her energy sword, missed. He makes one stab with his energy sword, and it's a fatal hit. Ok. I wish the fighting choreography made it more clear why he's winning.
Someting I don't understand: Why do they need space rockets to get to space from Earth, when the gundams have no issue flying in Earth-atmosphere? Gravity shouldn't be an issue?
Episode 33:
Two things:
1.) The plotshield ALL the good guys have at this point is kinda frustrating. I understand that people like Kamille and Char aren't gonna get killed outside of pivotal key moments. But if you don't want characters like Fa, Reccoa or Katz killed, then DONT SEND THEM IN BATTLE. Fa joining as a pilot came out of nowhere anyway. It feels silly that our heroes are gunning down enemies in the dozens but none of their's ever die.
2.) Reccoa's completely random love for Shirocco is super dumb, lol. Time for slapping a woman again, do it, Gundam Zeta!![]()
Episode 49:
Did Heinken seriously sacrifize the entire Radish-crew only to save Emma? WTF. How is this in any way defensible?!
Also the whole "we poor women are discriminated by men"-angle ... WHERE does it come from?! If anything, this anime has shown strong women fighting equally together with men for its entire runtime. It's only Reccoa who keeps going off about it ... while betraying everyone. What a dumb bitch, seriously.
Didn't expect Katz to die, but he deserved it due to his stupid behavior. Although I think he's been done unfair being called a child when Kamille is very much the same, just per writing a better pilot, so people accept his childish antics.
Episode 50 - Final:
- why tf did neither Shirocco nor Haman destroy the colony laser?! They were both inside the most vulnerable parts of it. Literally randomy stray shots would have done enough damage to keep it from being used. Instead, they both gave up even their Gundam-piloted advantage to meet up with Char inside a theater for a dramatic scene. LOL
- there's no way Char died, right? I mean, the explosion SHOULD have killed him, but that one metal wall so conspicuously covered his Gundam shortly before the explosion ...
- Kamille turning full-r****ed was funny as hell.
- Less funny: So the Zeta Gundam now gets a random power up? In the last episode? Sorry, but that's bs. I really though these special powers were Kamille's as a newtype. Instead suddenly that piece of junk that was just being used like any other Gundam got special powers? Honestly, I'm much more impressed that Shirocco could keep up with Kamille, even overpower him without this out-of-nowhere special power.
- Now that's a sudden end that doesn't show us anything. Time to find out where the story continues, huh.
I cannot find a thread for Double Zeta using the search, so if there is one, pls move this posting to that thread and link me, thank you!
Double Zeta Episode 16:
FINALLY some serious moral dilemma: Judeau refusing to shoot at enemy soldiers, because they're not inside their mecha, just in space suits, defenseless. I hope this is followed up in the upcoming episodes. Judeau isn't a soldiers after all, so actually killing people is not something he's used to.
I also hope Bright and Emary will have an actual romance. Look, Bright is married with children, but he's literally worlds apart for months if not years between meeting his family. It's a special situation. And there's clearly some real emotions between him and the hot blonde chick. I say enjoy yourselves and tell your wife immediately when you return so you can figure out how to proceed. Or send her a message, whatever.
Mondo and Beechum continue to be the worst, but this episode Elle defended these two, so screw her, too. "How dare you call your friends traitors?!" - bitch, these two literally almost caused everyone's death SEVERAL times. And that's before them trying to steal the Gundam. Worst characters.
All in all, Double Zeta is REALLY bad, it only has moments of goodness. It's insane coming from Zeta to this. I really hope no future Gundam-show is that silly.
