    So I was randomly browsing characters on Wikipedia just now, and I came up with this:

    Hatake Sakumo, also known as Konoha's White Fang ((ÎIn}DY, Konoha no Shiroi Kiba) after the special white chakra he used, is the father of Hatake Kakashi.     kakashi's dad was as stong as the sannins, not actually one... I think

    it says " as respected as a sannin" not "respected as a sannin"

    yeah, his power merely rivals the Sannin, he isn't one of them. And there can definately only ever be three Sannin as the word "Sannin" literally means "The Three Ninjas".
