    I sold my iphone 3g to cover the upgrade cost of my new iphone 4...

    SO... I get a text today from the people who bought it asking me if I'd re-imburse them $35 for what they're paying to have it unlocked... I don't answer because I'm at the gym.

    I'm carrying my stuff inside and they're calling me... I clear the call and proceed to fix dinner cause I'm starving. New text ...

    "The phone won't unlock and has no wifi "

    I google... some people have tried jailbreaking the ios4 and then their wifi doesn't work.

    NOT MY PROBLEM... don't want to be an asshole but they got what they paid for. I didn't list " hacked iphone "

    That's like if i go buy a wii from somebody and then bitch at them because it won't play bootlegs or something.

    Is it common for iphones to be locked to a specific network?

    My take is that the bootleg comparison is a bit far, unless unlocking iphones are equally illegal. (Are they?)

    I could be partially to blame for not explicitly saying AT&T. The only authorized resellers I know of require AT&T contract to even get an iphone...

    BUT. the wireless not working could be a result of ios4 being loaded on the phone. Before the people came to buy it, I reset the phone to remove all my stuff and in the process it "upgraded" to ios4.

    They said they were coming to my house to get their money back today. I'm considering keeping a restocking fee since I don't know where the phone has been or what they've done to it since it's been out of my possession.

    I'd never give out my address in a trade unless I was receiving it, or it had to be done (eg selling a fridge).

    I always feel more comfortable setting up a meeting point at a cafe or something.

    I've been playing lately the newest Prince of Persia game, other than game being shitty(traps are too easy, fights too, it theoretically should take place before warrior within but it should be separate game) it buggs itself on pc - after i reload my save from last night there is no way to continue - doors are closed, timed switch is unreachable from this spot. Who with the sane mind placed save point just before timed doors? Why not place it after them?

    Once again ubisoft disappointed me with price of Persia game(i loved the series(nes one and Sands of time Trilogy(Prince of Persia 3D was shitty)

    Plus the temperature over here is 33 Celsius degrees...(usually its 23 in summer - if it is a hot summer it should be 28 maximum) and I'm dying of heat..

    God bless our men and women in blue for keeping the streets safe from a criminal like me who made the choice to not wear a seat belt today. You really put your life on the line to bring my evil ways to justice and I can only sit and reflect on the atrocity I committed.

    And after you didn't bash your skull through the windshield cause some lunatic crashed into you afterwards, you would've been happy someone told you to wear something that can save your life.

    It's legally required for a reason (in many countries), you breaking the law has nothing to do with being treated like a child.
    Perhaps the cop saw it as handing out an easy fine or whatever his reasons were, it's still something that can save your life.

    Why stop there? They should cook my food so I won't get burned. They should walk behind me at all times in case I slip and fall -- scratch that, they should cart me around in a rickshaw. They should raid my refrigerator of MSG-laden foods that can lead to a sedentary lifestyle which is the number one cause of premature death in the U.S.

    Where does it end? If I want to bash my skull through the windshield that's my business.

    When you crash thru the windshield, there is a chance that your 200mph car is going to hit a baby in a pram. Now if you have a seat beat, you will stay in your car, safely apply brakes and slow the car to 100mph before hitting the baby in a pram.

    Much safer that way. Its safer not just for you, but others too.

    Anyway, I do think that giving a fine without proper justification is bad though.
    (if you were driving errand, that is good enough justification)

    Anyhow, my Mom just encountered a hit and run. Gosh it sucks, good thing she only suffered emotionally and was not hurt physically.

    Firstly, I do believe restraint laws should strongly be enforced when it comes to a child in a safety seat. They are not adults and it is their parents' responsibility to protect them. But to say I should buckle up as a good message to the little children is ridiculous.

    I'm so tired of hearing about the children. Every emotion-based plea has to invoke the children as pawns to make its point because it can't be proven rationally. Little bastards are always in the way of letting me make my own decisions.

    Let's not get it twisted, and call it what it really is. A quick and easy way to add to the state coffers. You don't think they actually WANT people to buckle up, do you? They just want that money. If more people drive without a seat belt if it's against the law, hey that's even better, more money for the state to spend just as unwisely as the money they already have.

    While we are talking about drugs being illegal, I do hope that drugs become legal everywhere.

    However, I do enjoy seeing drug traffickers getting the death penalty. Ok, I think I like the death penalty quite a bit, the penalty that I truly like is, life torture sentencing for the worst crimes possible.

    Enforcing Life torture penalty though would be close to impossible, since it requires some really sick people to carry it out.(ops, I just found a job for the sickos out there.)

    so today i went to see Inception at the imax, and bought my tickets online cuz i knew it would be packed. On the way there, there was an accident on the highway, so i missed my 6:40 show. I went to guest services to try to get it changed to the 10 pm show, but it had just sold out. I asked for a refund so i could go to another theater and watch it, but they told me since i'd bought it online, i would have to call head office for a refund. I called head office, but ofcourse its 7 pm on a saturday so no one is there. The worst part is, i had bought tickets for my friends as well, at $17 a pop, so i ended up paying 50 bucks for a movie i didnt even get to see!!.

    fuckign cineplex.

    Are refunds normally allowed? I have always been under the impression that tickets are non-refundable unless the show itself was cancelled.

    Like aeroplane and ship tickets, the service goes on with or without you.

    If that isn't the case, then the classic pickup line about "not wanting to waste a 'friend's' movie ticket.." doesn't make much sense.
