One sad fact is that with DVD subs you are stuck with the couple of traditional subtitle lines at the bottom of the image. No way to translate signs like we often see in fansubs: inside the picture itself, nor even put translation notes at top of the picture. When you are so limited with what you can do, it also kills much of the inspiration the commercial translators might otherwise have, and thus add to the "no soul" effect.
I've caught up to ep 19 now and I'd have to say Your-Mom's releases are very watchable.

So far ep 13 and 19 have been my favorites. 13 due to the "Nice!"/"Oh yeah!" scene.

Excel Saga has what I affectionately call the "Doggies" which are a small picture of Menchi with a speech bubble, which effectively provided the equivalent to the notes we all appreciate in fansubs.
In some movie (I forget which), there was a subtitle track of the storyboards for the current scene, which allowed you to compare the storyboards to the finished cut, if you liked that sort of thing.
End of Eva (or Death and Rebirth) and The Matrix demonstrated interactive subtitles (white rabbit in the matrix). Although I think that these were based on the menu standards.

I agree.. An almost serious Harima is shown here... All I can say that this episode is definitely different from all of the other SR episodes.
Episode 19 was good, yet sad at the same time...
What was it that Tenma misunderstood about Harima? The whole manga writing shpeel or the fact that he likes her?
Quite an episode, the 19th one. Quite different compared to all the earlier ones, I agree with that statement. And it was a brilliant one at that. The whole sequence of Harima riding the plate was pretty crazy and visually superb. I didn't expect them to get a chance to use the traditional scifi anime scene of multiple missiles being launched, but it seems it's no good to underestimate the SR script writers.
Yatta! This is nice. Do you guys remember a piano song used in SR, it's a pretty famous song, but I don't remember which episode it's in, I think it's around 7-12, (though I'm not sure).

Ep 21's Imadori was the best thing to happen to this series.

Definitely a fan of Tenma/Karasuma as opposed to Tenma/Harima so I really enjoyed the sunset scene. Didn't think Karasuma had it in him to throw someone off a cliff... but that was fine too
Imadori/Ichijo is the best couple by far. Imadori is the best character in the show.
Damn that was funny. The whole dancing lion part of the episode was bloody hilarious, like Imadori getting eaten...
Even though I should have seen it coming, I just cracked up when Harima saw that Eri was in the Lion suit
The Lion vs Imadori was pure gold.
Is the manga done btw, or is there hope for a 3rd series? Even though at this point I can't imagine them finishing the series in just 4 eps, there are enough anime that manage to wrap it up. (and screw up horribly doing so).
The series is just too funny to stop now..
it was also funny when they were stalking tenma and karasuma, he went into the cafe and then choked on melon soda lol xD and that lady freaked out, and still didnt ask about the dragon xD

Good ep.. we finally saw something that Tenma is actually good in. The skating contest was also quite funny. Lala's 'normal' talking seems to be better as well..it now sounds more natural.
The preview for the next ep cracked me up.. the Hanai part of it.
