sometimes i don't understand how the japanese can vote on a character that had only maybe 2 or 3 sheets of page-time =P maybe they just like the way a character's drawn? like, nanao-chan. all we know is that she's a straight-laced vice-captain who doesn't take shit from her superior. that alone, apparently, garnered 609 votes. amazing!

LoL I love how fricking Chad is number 30 no love to the mexicans. Although when you really think about it there isn't a whole lot of characerization consideraing that bleach has a truck load of characters. Gin and Hitsuga are in the top 5 but honestly what makes them so special? Hitsuga has large hair and he's young, those are the only defining character traits I can think of and Gin looks extremely untrust worthy that is all we know. Then again it does appear their is more to gin then meets the eye but from what we've seen now most the characters are pretty shallow.
