Well... seeing as how there's no proof that Arthur ever existed; It might have been a real person, a legend, or an amalgam of legends and real knights. I really don't see how King Arthur can't be a women.Originally Posted by Darknodin

Well back then it wasn't common that a girl becomes a knight, let alone a king/queen.Originally Posted by Church
@ Aeon: Game info used but NOOOOOOOOOOOO plot spoilers should exist in this post.
Servants are servants forever and there's a chance in every Grail war for any servent of a given class to be summoned, I can't say anything about what might affect these chances but suffice it to say that each war is independant of the others. After a war ends servants go where ever they go and are there until summoned again. This also explains why the Grail can be destroyed in one war then come back ten years later.
Well i think that you all have learned a valuable lesson; Spoilers are everywhere, beware of the spoilers, I myself came across one while looking for renders.
This episode was awsome, and this misterious 8th servant, who is he? Is there going to be another love triangle? I think i have some idea who he is, but i am keeping my theories to myself on this one. Only 5 more episode left. This is going to be wicked sweet.

I understand that... but its simply the use of the male epithets in the flashbacks that bothers me... or was that only due to the translation?Originally Posted by Church
My thought about Arthur being a female is that the guy that was sitting next to the sword when she pulled it from the stone was Merlin. Since a female ruler would'nt have been accepted he cloaked her appearence to that of a guy. It would really suck if that was just some random whino.

That's what I was thinking.Originally Posted by Aeon
Or Saber's just nuts and thinks she's King Arthur...
She needs to be legendary in order to tbe summoned in the holy grail war. And in fact Assassin taught ultimately it's actually enough just to be legendary: Even if you never existed actually (even in the world of the series). I think this lessens the meaningfulness of pondering the gender.Originally Posted by Church
well its anime so normal rules don't apply, its not like this has to be politically correct. Also it is an interesting concept, i don't really have a problem with it. I am a big fan of mid evil history and fiction and to see it showing up in anime makes me happy.

Well I think thought that Saber was Joan of Arc at first I didnt think of Arthur until on she was called Arthuria and then she pulled the kings sword from the stone. I also know who the 8th servant is. I am like wow but I am not gonna spoil it. When you find you're gonna flip.

Go rewatch the episode between 20:00 and 20:14Originally Posted by BOARD_of_command
Just a few days ago I started watching this series, and got caught up completely. What day does the sub come out generally? And, is the best place to watch this on youtube or is there a fairly high quality file that can be Bittorrented? Thanks.
Eclipse's releases are on most Saturdays. Watching anything on YouTube is a waste of time when you can download quality versions of the subs. I'm surprised you even bothered watching the terrible quality half-eps on YouTube. Just check tokyotosho or baka-updates for the releases.
Eclipse also posts their releases themselves on the point-blank tracker. But yeah, usually on Saturdays.
Ep 20 is out, will be watching right after Yugioh.

Hmm... Interesting. Although hardly anything really surprising. It's good it didn't get mushy, though. The best part of the episode was probably Rin's reaction to Shirou's plans in the beginning of the episode. I think Rin must have foreseen how it all would end, but decided to play along.
The next episode preview looked very ominous, however. Maybe we will get to see how great powers Shirou will be able to muster. From the looks of it they need all the firepower they can get.
I doubt we will anymore get episodes this calm before the end.
Not a bad episode exactly but it really seemed a bit out of place. I mean the character developement was needed and overall the episode had a lot to offer in that respect just having a episode with a new enemy and a few deaths followed by a date and then the preview showing more bloody battles felt really wierd for me.
Well atleast the next episode looks like it will have some great fights and I'm definatly looking forward to it. I also hope this is the last date episode we have considering that we only have 4 episodes remaining.
Although considering everything so far I'm starting to wonder how they plan to have 4 more episodes with all this wierd pacing and timing that we have been having lately. As it stands we have lancer/master and the Golden servant. Its posible the golden servent is Lancers master I guess and that lancer was summoned in much the same way as Assassin was but having the supposid end boss have a major battle in the next episode and having lancer disappear for this long just all feels wierd to me.
It does seem like they have been trying to cram alot of content into just 24 episodes, and I believe this series could have easily gone another season. That being said, isn't it also possible that Lancer was already defeated by one of the other servants and they just didn't have time to show it? (though that does seem unlikely considering that anime almost always explains every part of the plot sufficiently)Its posible the golden servent is Lancers master I guess and that lancer was summoned in much the same way as Assassin was but having the supposid end boss have a major battle in the next episode and having lancer disappear for this long just all feels wierd to me.
Lancer is the only one of the 7 servants still left so if he was defeated I would assume the war would already have ended.Originally Posted by Narasho

Berserker
Archer
Assassin/(caster technical master)
Caster(master)

As it stands this should only leave Saber and Lancer in the war in the first place. The 8th Servant is a wild card and is obviously battles in the next episode. So at this point I don't believe Lancer could possibly be dead. I guess its possible the golden servant captured Lancer and has taken him out of the equation for now as well.
Just finished watching the episode. I can't stress it enough, like everyone else, I really think this should be longer than 24 episodes. With only four episodes left, did this episode really have to take a whole episode? I'm hoping for a twist in the end and them to address more details like the last war and such.
Shirou looks pretty dead in the next episode, actually, so does Saber.
