I understand that... but its simply the use of the male epithets in the flashbacks that bothers me... or was that only due to the translation?Originally Posted by Church

My thought about Arthur being a female is that the guy that was sitting next to the sword when she pulled it from the stone was Merlin. Since a female ruler would'nt have been accepted he cloaked her appearence to that of a guy. It would really suck if that was just some random whino.

Or Saber's just nuts and thinks she's King Arthur...
She needs to be legendary in order to tbe summoned in the holy grail war. And in fact Assassin taught ultimately it's actually enough just to be legendary: Even if you never existed actually (even in the world of the series). I think this lessens the meaningfulness of pondering the gender.Originally Posted by Church
well its anime so normal rules don't apply, its not like this has to be politically correct. Also it is an interesting concept, i don't really have a problem with it. I am a big fan of mid evil history and fiction and to see it showing up in anime makes me happy.

Well I think thought that Saber was Joan of Arc at first I didnt think of Arthur until on she was called Arthuria and then she pulled the kings sword from the stone. I also know who the 8th servant is. I am like wow but I am not gonna spoil it. When you find you're gonna flip.
