I can't believe Kotomine hurt Rin, not only was she my favorite character along with Rider but she was his niece. I want him dead now. And I wish Gil would start pulling out the cool swords for basic attacks instead of those basic one's. I still want more scyth action.

Shiro did indeed change as the series progressed. I just couldnt believe how bad a character he started with. It isnt just because I hated his character type from the begininning (which I did personally), but his sense of responsibility was stupid. It didnt have any decent basis. He kept trying to do stuff that are OBVIOUSLY impossible by himself. and made absolutely ignorant decisions. Dont get me wrong, Im glad he became a better character, and he did change quite a bit especially in the latest episode when he didnt pop his selfish shiro-like question of asking saber to quit the fight knowing it is impossible. Actually, he still does impossible stuff by himself, like fighting kotomine by himself without a decent battle plan (unless he actually planned to get blasted by pure evil or something), but since its the last episode im just gonna let that slide.

One part I didnt like about the last episode was when saber said that she was a king before she was a woman. That seemed like something that her relationship with shiro was supposed to change. I just thought that she would have realized that she deserves a better fate than the one she was given (I felt she didnt have a choice) and that she would rather grab a second chance having shiro around, if it were possible of course. Though she said it relating to pride, I wish she should have said something more seld-centered for once.

You can't change the history, whether you like it or not. And in that battle having been a king was of greater assistance than having been a woman for a short time.

I was just wishing that she would show more of her feelings for shiro, even in (or maybe specially since) battle. I would rather she replace her line about being king with something relating to the new realization she has had (that she wants to be with shiro). But in the end, it really doesnt matter since it is just really pointless chat during battle.

Noone hurts Rin and gets away with it...

Although I feel the same about alot of the storyline elements that seem to be lacking, I'm almost sure that if they had made this into 2 seasons it would have been alot better. But alas one can hope....

Am I the only one that saw this whole end thing coming? its more like a repeat of the last war over again.

In the last ep I really want to see if they give a clue about about Shiro. Some people know what I'm talking about.

I ordered the hit on Rin, she has it coming. They did a half ass job though, the bitch was left alive, for forsaking Sakura and messing with Shirou I ordered it, just to piss you off as well.

Anyways, wow, just one more episode to go, I am impaticently waitng and dreading its coming. Its always hard watching something so good end. I admit that it was a hurried series and there were alot of gaps, but they made up for it. I wonder why and by whom it was decided it was going to be a 24 episode series. This series have without a doubt made my favorite list, its not way up there but it is in there. Well I basically already know what is going to be revealed, thanks to Unlimited Blade Works and my hunt for renders, curses. But i really wnat to see how it is done.

Who know i might even shed a tear. maybe.

I have to admit I liked FSN, but mainly because of saber. I really loved her as a character. Rin was also fairly good, but everyone else didnt really leave that much of an impression. The story had a lot of potential, but didnt make use of it. And, yes, it was indeed rushed. I would rate it average, an average anime with a great main character. (something like bakuretsu tenshi and Jo). When I say great character, of course it is both appearance and character wise, where shiro is just fails. I have to admit shiro pulled down FSN a few ranks for me personally.
Still looking forward to the ending though. I hope they dont end it as rushed as how the series progressed in the later half. Also, I hope it is an actual ending, not some vague cliffhanger with lots of loose ends. Still hoping for a happy ending though, personally. I like tragedies as much as the next guy (chrno crusades ending is a masterpiece), but I just hate farewells.

I liked this ending a lot! Based on the other Type Moon show I had seen, Shingetsutan Tsukihime, I was almost expecting an ending of this style. However, it was still a matter of how well it would be executed, and I'm very gladdened to see it was done perfectly as far as I can judge. The battle surely ended quite quickly, but even that didn't feel hurried to me. Any longer could even have been dragging. I also appreciate how they showed Saber after the parting. It was stylish as well (although I'm personally still not used to hearing Mamiko Noto in any exotic role...).

And Saber was quite a beauty also with the free-falling hair style, if not even more so. Too bad for Shirou for losing her.

This has got to be one of the best endings I have seen in ages..
I was hoping for a somewhat happy ending(I'm a sucker for those), but the current ending is done so well that I gladly accept it.

No OVA's or something are planned, right?

Wow, such a fantastic ending. I'm sad to see this one go, but with an ending like this one it makes it a little easier. The animation in the ep was excellent. The music was excellent. Everything was just... well, excellent.

Great ending I ave no complaints at all about how they ended it.

Overall I'd give this series a B as over the course of the story there seemed to be several episodes either out of place or things just flat out unexplained until it became convenient to do so in the middle of a fight/event.

Also as far as if anything else is planned its unknown to me but I know they have 2 more seperate storylines to follow for this series and its more then likely if this did well we will get more series. Just don't expect a continuation of the events in this series expect more of a Tenchi Muyo responce where you get many familure characters but they might not play the same role at all.

    Thumbs up

Great end to a surprisingly good series. Flow of the episode was impressive. One of the better series, I have seen recently.

Overall, the series delievered. It had a strong plot. Character development was faulty at points but those issues eventually were resolved. The fights were nice. Animation was good.

To sum it up, I was impressed. I do agree they should make some sort of continuation from this base.

Nice ending. Like Kraco said, the battle was short but didn't feel rushed at all. This finally concludes one of the better series in a long time.

Ok let me get it straight, he used his final command spell to make her destroy the grail correct? Anyways I liked the ending and was happy to see that Rin wasnt dead. Now that this is over I can't wait till TOKKO comes off break.

You are correct he forced her to destroy the grail with his final command spell.

Amazing. That was one of the better endings ive seen. I love happy endings, and generally hate partings, but the exceptions are if they are pulled off as well as this. Chrno Crusade was such a series, and so is Fate Stay Night.

Ive said before that FSN is just an average series, and indeed it is, but what I am going to miss the most is saber. The ending episode overall, wasnt exceptional. But there were around 5 minutes of anime gold in it, which made me look past the short battle (with Shirou shouting he didnt have a plan at all as I predicted before) and generally heartbreaking theme.

Those 5 minutes were of course, when Shirou gave the last order, until saber said goodbye. That farewell was probably the best end scene ive scene since Chrno and Rosette. And disappearing in the sunrise, then Shirou saying Omae rashii (that is just like you) just wrapped it up great.

EDIT : I guess I really liked the parting scene because I have always associated saber with the sun. I am not really sure why, but its something Ive felt for a while. Thats why I had my sig made the way it is.

My god, that was truly to me the best ending to an anime I have ever seen. Mind you I havn't seen many endings. God I wished they had made this anime two seasons long.

This has definatly gotten itself into my list of Favorite animes. Saber was amazing in her final fight. The way they set up Gilgameshs death was a very nice touch. This Ep made Shirou ten times more likable, maybe even kool. The animation of Saber in this ep was the best animation I've ever seen. True gold =P

This is the honest to god truth, best ending I've ever seen in an anime. Best ep of Fate/ Stay Night. Damn, I'm gonna miss this anime, Rin, and Saber so much.

Excellent anime, to all who havn't seen it, download and watch it now. I think I have something in my eye....

Edit: I agree with above, I may have hyped her up a bit, but I enjoyed every minute of this series. In the last ep, those last 5 minutes were awesome.

I guess I liked this series just a bit more than most. A+ =P

I'ma go watch the last ep again >.>

I liked the first 12 episodes, but towards the end the plot felt rushed. Whats with Toshiro's sorcery powers and why did Tosaka and her little sister split up in the first place?

I think I liked this one more than Tsukihime, but both had bad love schemes that don't get pulled until 3 episodes before the end.

It took two viewings to properly appreciate (probobly because of the yard work that was breathing down my neck the first time) but this was aa really moving ending. When they started printing Shirou's thoughts, I thought he was making a wish on the Grail for Saber to somehow stay with him, but their parting was really touching and affectionate. This was only my second series with parting comrades in the end, but I liked this ending more than the other one.
The cherry blossoms were my favorite touch, especially the scene where all the charachters are back drops to them. Saber added in with leaves instead was quite potent.
Someday my memories will fade, and the voices, and the actions, and even the warm feelings it gave, I may forget them as well but I'll always remember that I loved Fate Stay/Night.
