Since Sakura and Rin met face to face during the early eps, there's always been some tension between them. There have been uncomfortable "Sakura..." and "Tohsaka-san" exchanges between the two of them in the past, and Sakura became extrememly pushy and sensitive when Rin moved in with Shirou. We all assumed that this was because it looked like Rin was getting close to Shirou, who Sakura is quite fond of, but it may in fact been that she was curious of Rin's presense alone, rather than any connection between Rin and Shirou.

If you watch the series over and look for their interactions, the grounding is there. We're supposed to believe that Sakura and Rin are only upset about the closeness of the other one to Shirou, but it turns out the two of them had a past of their own.

All of it was supposed to be ambiguious, to keep us from guessing the two of them knew each other on their own, with Shirou playing almost no role in the past the two had together.

I also thought that the way they acted towards each other was based on Shirou till the Saber/Rider fight where at the end it showed Rin outside of Sakura's house. Although with this being an H-Game I origionally thought that Rin might like Sakura since she seems to turn down every guy at school.

Um Rin was outside of Sakura's house because Rider's master was Sakura's brother thats atleast how I took that.

Also while everyone is pointing out interactions that can be reinterpreted due to the sudden past presented none of it to me atleast is solid proof. In addition to that its clearly shown when Shiro sends rin to save Sakura instead of himself going that he seems to know about the connection the two have which just seemed to sudden and unexplained for my taste.

I guess for now I'll just try and accept it but if the episodes keep moving ahead at the current pace and throwing things in like this I'm going to be really disappointed as I really have enjoyed the majority of this series.

Why are you guys complicating things so much on "why did Shirou send Rin to save Sakura instead of going himself"? It's just a matter of strategy. Shirou thought he had a better chance against the teacher, a physical fighter, than Rin. And he also thought that Rin would have a much better chance against Caster, a magic user, than he would. That's all there is to it, it's a matter of efficiency and survival.

Edit: And even if the main reason for Rin to visit Sakura's house was because of Shinji, you can see clearly that she is somewhat concerned about Sakura by the way she stares at her room.

Very good episode. Started with intense action and ended with surprises aplenty. This certainy affects how the story will end. Although I have no idea how it will end...

I've always known that Shirou's dad was Saber's previous master. But the grail is destroyed? If it's destroyed then what's fueling the current war? What's powering the servants if the grail is gone? Hmm...

This episode has completly screwed up all ideas I had on how this series was gonna end. This anime f*cking rules.......

Great episode considering it was completely unpredictable and the action was excellent. I definatly didn't see the 8th servant comming nor do I have any idea who he's supposed to be except maybe moridin if its trying to follow mainly a King Arthur storyline of sorts.

I'm excited to see where all of these questions that just came into the picture lead and can't wait for the next episode.

Curse you Wikipedia for ruining all the surprises, anyway I wonder how they'll handle Goldy. MIght not be like in the game for all I know. Anyway, poor Assasin, Sabers one slice ruined his awesome three slices. But Goldy's attack looked so sweet I really don't care. The only master left now should be Lancer's and maybe Ilya cuz I think she still has command spells, but the preview looked like a place holder, so I'm guessing no action at all nest time.

I still need an explanation of why Saber(King Arthur) is back for this holy war if she was in the last war. Maybe it has something to do with the way she was summoned. And poor Caster, I was starting to like her but I have a question on her also. The reason she was dying in the beginning was because she killed her master and was running out of Mana right? How exactly was Kuzuki able to save her life by becoming her master if he doesn't have any mana or command spells? I understand she later gained mana from people but how was she initally saved. This is like me trying to figure out how Shiki and Arcuid relationship started.
