I shit a lot less since cutting down on diet coke.

I used to drink that a lot of diet cola and poo-ed daily with fairly large quantities. Like a medium/large carrot. The can does warn that overconsumption can cause diarrhoea (since the indigestible sugar draws water into your stools via osmosis), but this wasn't to that level, just large stools.

Lately I must be making super concentrated shit or something. I poo very little, and this is all I can pin it down to - not having artificial sugar bulking up my stool anymore. No feeling of constipation - just kinda empty.

That or my altered bowel habits are a sign of bowel cancer. But probably the coke.

    You're welcome.

I learned that soft-shelled crabs are various species of newly molted crabs and not one specific species that is soft all the time.

Yeah, and they generally suck because most preparations involve breading and frying them, making the final dish greasy. Crab has a delicate flavor and is best without all that breading or oil.

I love crabs in almost all other forms, from Cajun boils to HK stir fried to simply steamed and dipped in fermented fish with lime to thai crab fried rice to king crab legs dipped in butter. I love eating their innards and eggs. Once I am done with a whole crab, only the lungs and inedible shell are left. However, I have always been disappointed with soft shelled crabs, even after trying it so many times in different restaurants of different cuisines.

3.2 tonnes of cocaine will last New Zealand 30 years. Or for Australia, about 1.

Is that due to population size or number of addicts?

    Both.

NZ population 5 million in 2021. AU 25mil.

5x the population, 30x the coke demand.

Anime Song Singer Maon Kurosaki Passes Away at 35

Kurosaki made her first major debut with the album H.O.T.D. on September 22, 2010. The album contained all the ending songs she performed from the High School of the Dead TV anime. Her first two major single releases, "Magic∞World" and "Memories Last,” were used as the ending theme songs for the A Certain Magical Index II TV anime, a franchise she truly loved and admired, writing "Memories Last” based on how she empathized with Accelerator and Last Order.

Over the following decade, she’d sing theme songs for The Fruit of Grisaia, Accel World: Infinite Burst, Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School, Dances with the Dragons and saw her singles "Gravitation" and "Roar" used as the openings for A Certain Magical Index III in 2019. Kurosaki also made her acting debut in the BLOOD-CLUB DOLLS live-action adaptation of the Blood anime series in 2018.

Her latest single "More Strongly,” which was released on November 16, 2022, could be heard as the ending theme song for Reincarnated as a Sword.

I didn't know she died. Shame, I liked a heap of her songs as well.

35 is young in a developped country. What caused her death if there's info somewhere ?
I probably have a skewed view of the reality but as I wrote already, somehow I think entertainment women die younger in Japan ?

News sources seem to vary about the exact details but she died from an epidural haematoma apparently. Some sites said she collapsed in 2021 and had surgery for this then died from "chronic disease" in 2023. I'm not sure if she had a rebleed or a complication from the surgery, or if she has a reason that makes her prone to rebleeding like a haemophilia or an underlying aneurysm. The exact mechanism leading to her death is obscure.

I read the same things. Early 2018, of my client died at 39, heart just stopped as she was lacing her shoes, leaving two daughters aged 8 and 11. She was absolutely not in the risk category for a heart attack...
Somehow remembering that, I shouldn't have been so harsh. Shit happens.
    RIP Maon Kurosaki.

So because all Japanese porn has to be censored to be legal anyway, they can "fake" cumshots with artificial penises and squirt soymilk mixture on the girl.

    I did not know that.

The Japanese having 10g of sodium a day is pretty damn high. That's 5x the recommended daily intake.

That said, a packet of instant noodles has just over recommended 1.8g per day (usually 2.2g or so) if you drink the soup. And I used to eat several of these a day.

This spoon, while being cool in theory, probably would get a pass from me because:

-It's so thick. Thick spoons are weird to eat from.
-I eat way too quickly for this thing to work. My mouthfuls don't last that long.

    Durian.

Looks like a mace. Smells funny.

I've seen this fruit before and heard all about how bad it smells, but that it has its fans who say it tastes nice.

I've never tried it. Actually, I still haven't. But my aunt gave me some durian-flavoured chocolate today to try and I felt adventurous. It came in the individual sealed packets that is standard for snacks, nothing special.

You can smell it from way outside the packet. It's pungent alright.

Eating it.. wasn't terrible, but wasn't great. I'd say "Oh, it's less offensive than I imagined from the smell. Slightly salty I guess?". Not something I'd want to try again, but it's done now.

Except no. It's not. The after-taste and breath lingers man.... I'm drowning myself with cola but it's still with me half an hour later. Actually, this might be making it worse because every time I'm burping from the cola I can smell it again.

Anyway, the point being, I learned that durian isn't a one-bite experience. You will experience it recirculating between your digestive and respiratory tract for hours to come.
