On average, elephant pregnancies last around 2 years. Lacking many of the "animal instincts", elephant calves also go through possibly the longest "childhood" stage in the animal kingdom.

Today i learned that ninja's are the ultimate warrior, so much so that they could in fact induce cardiac arrest with a single strike.

Thats right. A ninja could give you a heart attack with one punch.

Have you heard of ninja's Hidey's disease? they think that they are so deadly that they will come to themselves in night to kill themselves while sleeping.

Hehe, for some reason although I can't remember what the reason was, this was a major topic of discussion a few years ago. They even did a C.S.I episode on it.

That might have something to do with the poison-tipped weapons they used. Not that ninjas aren't badass.

For God will not permit that we shall know what is to come... those who by some sorcery or by some dream might come to pierce the veil that lies so darkly over all that is before them may serve by just that vision to cause that God should wrench the world from its heading and set it upon another course altogether and then where stands the sorcerer? Where the dreamer and his dream?

Windows has port 666 open for Doom...

I thought that was pretty interesting that by default, port 666 is allowed in windows for Doom - ID Software.

... That the bank my office shares the first floor of our building with was robbed 2-3 weeks ago, i'm not sure of any details.

I was asking a coworker if anything was going on because yesterday I saw some plain clothes possibly FBI going in w\ a duffelbag and I was thinking Crimescene, and just a while ago i was walking in and this guy came out w\ his gun and everything in jeans + black tshirt w\ his gun and everything.

This is just like.. 2-3 blocks down from the bank I was at this past may-june when it was robbed. Which is the only time i've seriously thought that I was possibly about to die.

    1) Today I learned that you can make lyrics of a song show up under the visualizer (in Windows Media Player 10) by:

Right-click file -> Properties -> Summary -> Advanced and placing the words in the "lyrics" box.

It works for mp3 files at the very least.

    --------------------

    2) You can send files on MSN/Windows Live Messenger by clicking-and-dragging the file to the "input box" of your chat window.

Dunno how long these functions have been around, but they're news to me

Haha, Bill. I doubt the version number of MSN was even half of what it is today when I used it for the first time, and already back then that function existed.

Since I don't really use Windows Media Player, I don't know much about it. I did find it funny, though, that a few days ago when I tried to use it, it wanted to upgrade itself to version 11, and downloaded some 30MB of stuff and seemingly went through installation - and finished it by listing one item that couldn't be installed: Windows Media Player 11...

Still, when I launched it again yesterday, it seemed to be version 11 alright. MS is at it again, for sure.

Wow. Better late than never, I guess is how things go. You know how them Mummies and Daddies always tell kids not to rub their eyes and stuff?

It's not that bad, but it's got its roots. Supposedly the eyes aren't very permeable to antibodies and all that other immune system thingies. That's why you won't need anti-rejection drugs after a cornea transplant. On the downside, infections are nasty.

    /things I learned today.

Good to hear your eyes are still in good health Junior.

From your experiences, what's the plus of wearing contacts? I wear glasses only for long-range stuff like lectures, so I never considered contacts, so I'm curious.

I think Junior would look freakin' adorable in glasses.

People are too careless with contact lens care. Basically you're putting your vision at risk by not cleaning them and wearing them properly.
