That was just...patently ungood. Everybody sucks at everything.
The cowboy thing doesn't bother me as much as I'm certain it will most people. After all, the Wind country is all arabian style, so I guess different countries represent different cultures in Naruto. They all just happen to have ninjas. Stone country has a western theme is all.
But still, episode done sucked.
I don't know about you, but if I saw nails plunge into the ground, I wouldn't rush directly over the nailfield.
i didn't think it was that bad...the music was well used, and the characters this time around don't seem so unreasonably drawn...like the idiot twins, tony the tiger, or old fish lips..these guys actually look cool.
I do however notice a growing trend in which Tsunade is terribly misinformed regarding the severity of certain missions. Perhaps she is still secretly dipping into the sake more than we know.
Overall a much more enjoyable episode than what we've had lately..hopefully this keeps up for the remainder of the arc. could get cool.

Another moronic episode which is not surprising. I ended up closing the window halfway. The writers should get fired for this, perhaps they thought the current arcs are focused in childen that they dont care about the quality. As a result, they just slap something and feed us with crap....
is it really that hard to make an arc where people arent useless and just outskilled?
Hinata was totally useless after the other filler arc in which she improved. If your gonna have the characters get beat... atleast let them do it with some dignity *sigh*
And really... 3 Kids walking around with Ninja forehead protectors from the strongest country in the world... they should expect themselves to be NOT wanted in a foreign country. (Not sure of alliances)

I liked this episode. Sazanami is a great charachter, bounty hunters are always awesome and he has a sword. The scars on his face made him look a little like Itachi and they were playing like Sasuke's theme song when he was walking around, so I tought for a little while that he was related to the Uchiha somehow. The episode did have some stupid elements as usual though, like Naruto and them all getting defeated with one hit. Sazanami saying he's going to kill them then not doing it.
Yeah. First he says: "I'll have you die here." and then he just beats 'em up a little. It would only make sense if beaten characters always committed a seppuku to erase the shame of getting beaten...Originally posted by: Terracosmo

It was certainly a very level episode, both in good and bad. Not any highlights at all, but fortunately no curry of life either. Stupid things like characters getting their asses kicked far too easily and the nail illogicality TS8 mentioned. But since we see the same discontinuity and cheap tricks in every filler, I try to forget them as long as it doesn't get as gross as the curry of death.

I guess I'm in the minority who thinks this episode kicked ass.
A few things that didn't make sense happened but come on... that nail thing was great. Like an iron maiden wherever you walk, I was hoping the guy would get impaled on even more.
The animation is so vastly different from almost any Naruto episode. I think it resembled the movie in terms of the look and theme, with more realistic looking people. The characters are cool. I loved it.

I think Tsunade knows this missions are much harder than they're listed, thats why she sends Naruto, cause she knows he has freak powers.
She's all "Hmm, a Shinobi Lord, better stick Naruto on this team. That way if it goes south and everyone gets KOd Naruto can flip out and kill the guy. Then Konoha looks awsome for winning with Genins because Naruto is too mentally deficient to get promoted to Jounin where he should be."
