Yeah, Suiseiseki really is the shy and timid doll that Shinku said she was in the first season. This episode was an emotional one -- which, coupled with an nicely timed BGM, N-field palette, and nicely animated fight scenes, make this one of the best episodes in the series.
Rie Tanaka is so awesome as Suigintou... She just makes her sound so villainous... Just perfect, if you ask me. However, it's nice to see that she's fighting for something other than just herself now. And yes, she can make that type of N-field. Remember, an N-field reflects the personality of the creator. Suigintou, of course, is an exceptionally powerful doll.
Yes, you do have to wait until the 12th for the next episode.

*Dies* NO! I need my RM:T fix! I'll be going through withdrawl for two weeks?!
Anyway, I agree with you on Rie Tanaka. Because of her skill as a vocalist she's able to twist her voice into many different versions. The softhearted Lacus Clyne (I think she held her nose while doing her voice). The extravogant Meer/Mia Campbell (on the early episodes of GSD before she was introduced Rie added a little of her to Lacus's voice as a test, I noticed.) The darkhearted Suugintou (although in the last episode of RM, she switched to the exhasperated Meer for her last scene.) and many others, especially like the kind adult woman version, which she uses a lot in anime. Suugintou was actually the first time I've heard her do a creepy one, and I gotta admit I'm definately impressed.
Actually I think all of them are rather well casted. Jun, though a female in real life, pulls off the male shounen part well, especially the I'm-pissed-off voice. Quite honestly, if they brought this series to the US, I'd go and sign up for auditions to play Jun. I can't really see Nori having a different voice, the slightly ditziness is captured in the voice well. Shinku... come on, she's Digiko and Mint, how can you not have a good voice with listings like that? I mean she's living Mint's ultimate dream, wearing an outfit like that. Hina Ichigo, well done, but annoying after hearing the screechings for a while. I also wish she could sing a little better. The twin team works great together, and they each reflect their own personalities well, especially when Souseiseki says something with a straight face. I even was on the floor in tears when I heard Suiseiseki's old-crone performance in the Snow White skit. Barasuishou is quite honestly scarier than Suugintou when it comes to the voice. At first it was just a blank emotionless voice, but when she turns sinister, I can almost see a snake tongue coming out of her mouth. The only one I don't like is Kanaria, but then again, I don't like Kanaria to begin with, so I'm partial.
Well I'd say I've jibberjabbered enough for now. Matta ne.

Link works if you click it too.
Anyway, I just finished watching it.... Two deaths in one episode? *WAAAAAHHHH!!!* My precious Souseiseki and Hina Ichigo are gone! *sniffle*
I'll be honest. I didn't think that those three would reveal their secrets until episode 12, as a part of the climax for the end, but instead the bastard bunny, the blank bitch, and the blonde bug reveal themselves now....
Not only that, but Barasuishou's preview didn't help at all, other than revealing that she has a sword.
AH MOU! What's going to happen next?

I enjoyed the episode, can't wait for the final episodes. I do hope they tie up loose ends with this Alice game, otherwise it will go on forever? What if somebody does bacome Alice? Are there any more Alice games beyond that?

Noooooooooo@Episode 11
I seriously dunno what's going to happen. It's pretty much anybodys game now (but it leans in favour of Shinku, it seems... Though Barasuishou is definitely stronger now). I wish the Alice game would be explained already, dammit. And Suigintou, amazingly, has yet to be OOC, despite what Shinku said to her. Great character.. And she even used her sword in ep 11!

OOC? "out of control" maybe? My weakness is non-standard acronyms.
I thought Shinku explained the Alice Game to Jun in the first season.
All of the dolls fight each other, as it was the only way that Enju/whatever his other names are, could find to create 'the perfect girl.' That's why it was sad when you found out Suigintou was broken and uncompleted, and Shinku had said Suigintou's feelings for their father were the most pure. Suigintou had wanted to prove to their father that despite her broken/unfinished status, that she was capable of being prefect too.
As the dolls fight each other, they steal the others' Roza Mystica. When one of the dolls has all of them, and the rest are turned into junk, and Alice, the perfect girl, is born. That's the winged girl breaking out of the egg they show in the opening of the first season and at various other places in this one.
That's the end of it, as their father would have created the perfect daughter. The Alice Game is the one any only, end all purpose to their existence, at least according to the the others not allied with Shinku.

Yeah, I know that much. But if you watched Traumend, it seemed that the dolls are hesitant about it now, and even Rozen didn't seem to enjoy it all that much. This leads me to believe there's more to Alice game than meets the eye.

Only Shinku and her allies (Suiseiseki, Hina Ichigo, Kanaria) were that hesitant about it. Hina Ichigo didn't really seem to care about it at all, as long as she was having fun, and Kanaria just didn't want to leave (whatever that crazy OL's name is, I forgot it). Suiseiseki didn't want to fight after realizing she'd need to fight her sister, and Shinku was more than willing to participate until after she had killed Suigintou and realized what the consquences of the Alice game.
As for the others, Souseiseki was driven back into it (given it was a trick by Barasuishou) by feeling sorry for avoiding their purpose and making their father sad, a view Shinku supported until she had killed Suigintou. Suigintou is driven by gathering enough Roza Mystica to save Megu, someone she she sympathizes with. Barasuishou seems to be motivated only in finally moving the Alice game along.
The smile Rozen gave at the end of eps 10 seemed like he was either glad that he could see them again or that he was just as glad the Alice game was finally making some progress.
But I haven't seen 11, so I suppose I might see things differently then.

downloaded, and attempted to enjoy... which is basically impossible after seeing what happens. Someone want to explain to me why Kanaria's attacks, which were so powerful in the beginning, now don't do shit?
And we never got to see Suiseiseki's true powers with a medium, unlike how we saw Shinku and Jun in series one.
Jun should really be in the frontline with Shinku right now. With her being the only one left and all, his powers are necessary.
Laplace is obviously not happy at all with the situation, as we saw as when he was sitting in the tree.
Just one more day before broadcast day. Is anyone else totally confused as to how this is going to turn out? How is it possible that they could keep us guessing to the very end? I mean in series one it was pretty easy to tell how things would turn out. But now that we have a 3 way battle going on, with the score of Bara = 2, Gin = 1, Shinku = 1. But Bara is obviously going to be disqualified because of the arm, unless she gets healed.
GAH! I'm going nuts here! I can hardly wait. AnimeLito better do a speedsub on this one.

Hmm... I was afraid it would have this kind of ending, the least surprising, the most safe. Well, it wasn't bad, but not brilliant either.
Well, at least there was one real surprise just before the end. That can't be denied. It defined and explained this second season quite nicely.

Just finished the series, I really enjoyed it, all but how the end played out... Nothing really got resolved... For some reason, I think there will be yet another season of Rozen Maiden fun... I hope it's not only wishful thinking from my part.

this series is great!
did you know? i just read that the manga seems to be a lot different than the anime.
the manga was stopped for some reason but a company(or manga author) said they want to resume it (forgot the name, the news is pretty much up to date)
from what i remember it is shown in a weekly magazine (it started yesterday
17th april 2008)
ah yes here "At the beginning of April, Peach-pit announced that Rozen Maiden will be published in another magazine called Young Jump. The April 17, 2008 issue had in fact confirmed this, as the manga will be released in the 20th issue."
and yea it really looks like there will be another season... or at least it was planned... because we know nearly nothing about the laplace-demon, about the seventh doll, the one with the rose in her eye at the end of the last episode which was flowing together with laplace in the N-field.
and we don't know what that laplace demon wants to do with the 2 rosa-mystica of Hina and Souseki.
ya i m looking forward to it.. someday there will be another season for sure! i really want to know more about the seventh doll, why is she the only one who wasn't fighting, or even shown? (only for 5 seconds) and what is she planning? it seems like she is working together with the laplace-demon.

Yes, the manga was cancelled or something, but it's returning now. You can read about it here:

As for a sequel, other than the OVA that came out last year Ouverture, I haven't heard anything else.

thats really nice because i'm looking for the manga at the moment, since it is licensed it is nearly impossible to find it on the internet.. so i wondered if it was worth buying, when i read something about that it ended with a deus ex machina i stopped thinking about it...
now that i read that they are going to finish(?) it i'm thinking about it again.
its one of those rare mangas which is avaible in germany, too..
(up to the 7th volume and the 8th comming next month or so)
it can't be that bad then because most mangas are dropped very fast here. it means alot!
edit: oops this is not the manga-forum

I also hadn't heard of any plans of sequels beyond Ouvertuere, which was more or less flashback.

well thats because the manga ended similiar to the anime... there are differences but both ended like this.
no real answers given etc.
they wanted to wait a bit probably? or thought "well since there is no manga, there is also no material to use"... i don't know how those people work if they make an anime out of a manga.
but i thought they only use what they have and since there is nothing to use, they dropped it as "finished" or something like that.
probably, just probably, when the manga is finished or has more volumes, they will make a sequel
if dreaming is allowed i would like to continue this dream

I had thought the manga got significantly further into their little Alice Game, and Barasuishou wasn't in it at all, since it turned out she was a fake in the anime.
I am eager to see how it all ends. I'm still rooting for Suigintou. Her past always made me sympathize with her since the end of the first season. Plus I love her foul attitude and the excellent work Rie Tanaka does playing her.
You should definitely see Ouvertuere if you like her even a tiny bit. It is very illuminating.
