Changing hardware would be a real bitch, but this would be cool to try out sometime.

So is it only the motherboard/CPU/RAM/videocard that are submerged in the oil? Are the fans on the CPU/GPU running or removed, because they appear to be moving, but that could just be an effect of the air bubbles? I checked the youtube page but he didn't provide those details.

I see the HDD/CD and of course PSU are not submerged, as well as the power connector on the motherboard. I wonder why he has those two external fans hooked up?

Where the dreamer and his dream?”

The fans/heatsinks seem counter-productive to me. Normally, in a water-cooled setup, the water is what's transferring the heat, so why have that bulky stuff get in the way? Plus, I imagine those fans will burn out in a matter of months considering how much denser oil/water is to air.

The thing is, I don't think the CPU fan is actually turning via electrical power. I think the air bubbles are causing it to rotate, but it's redundant as the mineral oil cooling makes a fan unnecessary.

Plus the setup isn't that quiet because of the PSU fan and the sound from the air pump. Still not sure why he has those external fans.

I'm not sure about the reasoning behind those external fans, nor if the fans would die fast if they were spinning in the oil. As far as I could tell all the fans spinning were due to them being powered, not because of bubbles or convection currents. Taking into account that even water cooling needs a pump to keep cool water flowing to the hotspots, I'm not sure how well a bare chip would be cooled based on convection alone.

The pumps used to generate bubbles isn't neccessary and can be removed. I've also seen other builds where the powersupply is dunked in oil without immediate adverse effects. An SSD would go in the oil just fine, but since they don't make noise there's no real point. Optical drives can always be replaced with external USB options that are plugged in when necessary, so it really only leaves the power supply as the one necessary source of noise.

If you decide to get a quiet one (like mine, and it stops spinning at low output anyway) then it's pretty good.

I think the external fan on the right is blowing at the user. I've considering getting one of those USB powered fans for personal comfort.

I think the placement of the bubble generators are evidence that they serve a purpose... in this case to turn the fans.

All you really need is a car, a shotgun, and food supplies.

Fortification's the first form of defence against a zombie attack. Australia's a nice place since most zombies don't swim, but given the rapid viral-bourne nature of most depictions of zombie infections these days I doubt it'll be of use unless we somehow manage to make our continent zombie-free.

The fact that white settlement is only recent here means we're also short on castles.

As for ranged, home-made, preferably quiet weapons - I'd go with a crossbow. Arrows should be easier to retrieve than steel balls.

Crossbows take too long to reload compared to slingshots. You have to think and act fast when encountered with zombie hordes, particularly the bs fast moving type that Hollywood proposes these days. What they fail to realize is, zombification leads to atrophy and loss of muscle coordination required to run, so zombies will be slow as shit.

I like Kristin Bell a lot and she's hot and all but the combination of her being overly emotional a lot AND dating Dax Shepard are too much to bear.
