Thread: I have a question.

    I have a question.

"I couldn't find a specific thread for this, so I decided to start one. If I'm wrong, go ahead and move it, mods, I apologize in advance."

    ditto

I notice alot of threads that start out this way, on in ways like this. What is that saying about how the forums are moderated and the type of atmosphere present? just uh... curious. you can go ahead and move this if it isn't in the right place.

    I have a question.

it basically means that the experienced members of this community have little patience for people who start topics without taking the time to even see if a similiar one already exists, or if its in the right place.

Moderators have a choice to either create/enforce rules that benefit newcomers or create/enforce rules that benefit veterans.
We tend to support the latter, because its hard enough as it is to keep veterans around

    I have a question.

define veteran. Lol I wish i was a veterans assertn. Anyways yeah its becuase to many new people post in the wrong sections so people stop caring about them and flame / bash / whatever since its like shooting fish in a barrel. Reason we have this problem, More new users than old users but old users are more needed..

    I have a question.

that's weird... woofcat's been around since '03 but if i hit 300 before he does, i'm considered a veteran? i guess post count is more important than years? if so, wouldn't that encourage spam posts? this isn't to say that i never spam posted before but i'm just thinking... wouldn't the emphasis on post count encourage more dumbass posts than intelligent ones?

    I have a question.

    haha.....i had a feeling that'd happen.
i meant to make it sound more like "have 300 posts by your 22nd month AND be around for 22+ months" actually

but like boc said, i was joking

    I have a question.

To set the record straight, a veteran, atleast to me, is not someone who's been around since the forums started, but someone who has contributed to these forums during thier time here and made them a place both old and new members alike can enjoy.

ofcourse, having been around a while always helps since u've had more time to make intelligent posts....and also cuz u've probably gotten to know the highrollers like myself, assertn, terra etc. so thats like +50 points rite tehre

now regarding the original posts....what exactly are u trying to get at? maybe its cuz im tired, but are u saying that apologizing to the mods/members for creating a topic that mite be in the wrong forum is incorrect? that it somehow gives a bad impression of these forums to newcommers? that it's alrite to create a topic without searching if ur a new member?

cuz if thats what ur saying, then u must be on crack.

    I have a question.

I agree with Assassin. Thats kind of a self answering question. The reason they move it is mainly so people don't flame the poor basterd and thier question never be answered and also to keep the general organization of the forum some what normal.

    I have a question.

Atmosphere? It's something people with manners write when they aren't sure of what the rules are, instead of looking like complete retards who don't care where they post.
