    Shin Angyou Onshi

Was just bored one night and decided this might be an intersting one to watch, especially since I've never tried Bakakozou before.

This movie (just under 1 and a half hours) focuses on a wanderer named Moonse. Once part of the mighty kingdom of Juchin, Moonse now travels alone, searching for something. One day he faints in the desert and is saved by a young man named Monylon, who is trying to become a Amen Osa, warriors of Juchin that are said to possess the strength to summon legions, in order to save the woman he loves. Little does Monylon know that the man he has just saved is himself an Amen Osa.

That's about as much of the plot as I'm giving out, because it changes swiftly and I don't want to spoil! Suffice to say that some of the themes behind Shin Angyou Onshi are a little cliche, but it still did a great job. Here' s my opinion:

Pros: BEAUTIFUL Animation! Bakcgrounds, characters and action sequences all detailed beautifully!
Some downright brutally gory scenes and villains as wicked as they come.
The music was sometimes sparse, but always fit the mood.
Keeps you guessing and draws attachment with most of the characters.

Cons: The main character. I don't know what this guy's deal is! He's one of the biggest assholes I've ever seen in anime! Now, I know that "the reluctant hero" is supposed to be the popular protagonist of the day, but this guy is too much! He is selfish, preachy, underhanded, egotistical and condescending to almost everyone. A walking contradiction, who gave this guy such great powers!?!?!
The ending, We finally find out what Moonse is searching for (even though it was never really the central issue) and we never even see if he gets there are not! Hell, we don't even know most of his background or why how his objective came to be!

Favorite scene: Cut to different scene. Man standing in awe. His head gets crushed in by a gigantic warrior wielding a metal club. Fucking sweet dude.
Least favorite scene: Moonse and companion walking through beautiful nature to some crappy song...

Give it a whirl though folks!

Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".
