In the ending montage, they showed Mashiro shaking hands with Midori, which I suppose was supposed to fulfill that promise the two of them made. It seemed implied that she was doing what she said she was going to. If it hadn't already been started, she was definitely going to get to it immediately after the last shot.

I was pretty happy with the last eps. There was a lot crammed in there. Otome does seem a bit like a parody of a couple other series. It's certainly a brighter series than Hime, even though basically no one died in either. Mimi and Erstin were really the only casualties of this series, but they really didn't seem to hit as hard as the "deaths" in Hime.

I really liked the reappearance of Akane. She and Kazuya were arrested for trying to corrupt Akane, hah. Also, her robe had Nekomimi! It was hilarious when she started arguing to the Pillar and they animated her robe more and more like a catgirl.

Also, is it wrong to be attracted to Miss Maria? She even had a katana that was covered in ichor.

All in all, I was satisfied.

Finally watched the eps, I wish they gave Mai vs Nina more time. It was over as soon as Nina transformed. I still liked the ending even though them surviving naked while falling to through the atmosphere was strange.

A lot of people survived a lot of strange occurances in this series, Tomoe? How did she not die? Nina and Arika in space...at least draw in an aura so we canpretend that's how their breathing. Falling from the exosphere with nothing but nanomachines and GUTS! to support you............... right.

All in all I still loved this series, enjoyed the end, and definately loved Miss Maria like no other. I think the reason she always looked so pissed was cause she knew how bad ass she was but couldn't lay her real pimp hand down on the kids when they were acting up. Bringing Akane back was cool, though the pillar who retrieved her was kinda weird as she was just thrust into the story...I had always thougt the teacher and Maria were the other Pillars. Can't wait for the OVA's and I'm glad they left it open enough for more content to possibly come out later. And something I was confused about, was the country Akane's boytoy came from the one that Midori and Co, beat up before the final battle? I've been watching to many different groups to keep the place names straight.

well....it a very nice series., and since i have the experience of hime's ending, i did exactly the samething, and i mean it, exactly the samething, "having a stupid, smiling, right eye open big, left eye half closed, lips twitching, expression the whole 26 mins"

the whole time phrases like "wow! PUWAHAHA!! er... HUH!?!?? WTF!?!" just keep on circling in my head,

the only thing really made me say WTF is when nina went crazy and Arika just go full power and defeated her in a second.... ERM WUT JUST HAPPENED!?!?
although i know Arika will win anyways, but that just came tooooooooooo fast, especially when Nagi was like "oh we all gonna die!"

and the story ends, everyone lives happily after~
i find the endings for hime/otome are kinda silly compare to previous episodes, but they really chill ppl up, for example, they each made me go nuts and smile like an idiot for 26 mins

Kazuya was from Cartelya (sp?) which is some large country that was not talked about much with the exception of how it related to Akane and Kazu.

Midori and company (cyborgs) are from the Black Valley, they live in the middle of the wastelands.

Haruka and Yukino are from Ealis (the country where the hiking trip took place).

I think you missed my queestion. There was an episode where Midori and the cyborgs attack a nation that had attacked their hideaway to steal technology. The Otome got run through by Gakutenou, I am wondering if this country is the one Kazuya came from. I know the needed a monarch since the previous one died with his Otome.

The cover of May's Megami Magazine announces a Mai-Otome OAV series. It will be be 4 episodes and premiere in July in Japan.

Finally decided to finish the series, it was a pretty good series overall, much better than what I had expected.

Now waiting for the OVA, I've read here that it was supposed to come out in July, but from what I hear now it's coming out in 11/24/2006.

Same situation as the Mai-HiME manga and anime, both are totally different. At least they recreated everything, instead of making shit of the storyline like in Black Cat.
