That was a pretty bad mistake on my part (I'd like to call it an incidental feature though ). In any case, it probably won't start playing because whatever you're using gets confused when it finds the aspect ratio (AR) set to 16:9 within the bitstream. Most players tend to ignore any AR flags within the bitstream, good players will detect them and play them at whatever specified AR (mplayer comes to mind), and iffy ones will try to do something strange/special with failure as the result (WMP/sometimes BSPlayer come to mind).Originally posted by: Aeon
Is anybody else having problems running this ep? It just won't start playing.
Anyway, there are a few easy solutions:
a. try it on a different player (mplayer, mpc)
b. install the CCCP before attempting playback
c. if you're on bsplayer, try changing the render mode to overlay 2
d. wait until the batch releases (where everything will be "fixed" or updated)
--the batch releases from Doremi will bring consistency to the newer (better) episodes since the earlier ones were not of... favorable quality; let's just say that I still collect Static Subs's releases
There's also another (guarenteed) solution that requires a bit more work:
http://www.tomjepp.co.uk/otome19fix.html
For those who do use players that will properly read and display AR, the AR for otome 19 is incorrect and should (easily) be overridden from 16:9 to 4:3 or square pixel. Some people actually liked it (my project leader being one of them), but just the same, sorry, won't happen again.
I've no real excuse for it; I just stupidly forgot to revert a setting I had used for a DVD rip (kamichu) while encoding a sample of karaoke I had made for it.
