The Nina/Arika rivalry seemed likely once Nagi started messing around with everything, and became really likely after Wáng's strife and stuff. I hope they let some of the students fight these new things, though Shizuru could just kill them all in one shot with her Zabimaru/Ivy Blade Extreme Special Edition. I hate cliffhangers this good, give me more NOW!

This show got so much better now that Wong has shot down Arika's kiss attempt. Judging by the opening animation, Nina and Tomoe seem to take the side of Nagi although it seems weird that if Nagi wanted Arika alive to be his puppet why did she just try to kill her with acid.

I know a lot of people still think Tomoe as a pawn of Nagi, but she really comes off as just a total psycho. She's motivated only by getting rid of Arika because Arika is closer to Shizuru than her, and Arika has moved to 1st or 2nd in the rankings through combat and got accepted to the school on a technicality. That's why she's angry. I'll bet that if Nagi knew about her plans to kill Arika and that Arika was the real princess, then he'd probably have to stop Tomoe's bullshit himself. He just doesn't think she's that important. I doubt right now that he even acknowledges Tomoe's existance. He proved in the hiking eps that he doesn't care about Arika, and that's just because he doesn't know she's the real one yet.

Tomoe's plans are all her own doing.

Nagi is the kind of character who would just be amused if he knew of Tomoe's plans. And also the kind of person who wouldn't care, because he knows Arika could probably take of herself, and Tomoe would be no match for her, that is, if he had any plans for Arika (since like Ryllharu said if he knew Arika was the princess, his plans for her would certainly be different. Now we don't know if he even remembers her anymore).

Great ep. Don't know what they said but Ers died. Nina and Arika went Otome and blasted eachother. The city itself is basically lost. They also destroyed some machine underground that was allowing everybody with out a crystal like Arika's to materialise. Can't wait until Doroemi releases theirs in a couple of hours.

Great episode, Nina's Ultimate whatever should be a good balance against Arika's Sapphire, I was starting to think Arika would just become an overpowered/unbalanced charachter like Kagatsuchi/Mai, but now they can shoot death beams at each other all day, until Arika takes a hit to show Nina the error of following the evil imp Nagi, and then they join forces to destroy the HiME star...i mean, stop all the fighing.

PS: How did Sergey take a hit from that thing and come out with just a scratch...

PPS: Anyone recognize the name Shinso? Apparently she's the real head-honcho...have we met her yet?

A lot certainly happened. A good episode, and a very interesting end. It remains to be seen how things will go on from henceforth. Like FelixZeroAlastor said, the city seemed to take the hard end of the bargain, and what little could be deciphered from the preview, it looks like the city might be left behind, or it indeed suffered a lot. Either way, the settings will change.

Nina seemed to get a nice deal, though, for the time being. Even if she sold her soul to the devil, but that was to be expected, of course.

Shinso is a title and refers to Fumi (pink hair, maid of Mashiro in Mai-Hime, knocked Mikoto out cold with a teaspoon), the first Otome and founder of Garderobe. They talked about her for like 5 minutes during the eps where Arika had to clean out the grave/lab top floor and then they went down the the library and memorial to be caught by Miss Maria.
