That episode was intense, I can't say I blame Nina for joining up with Nagi. Sergay never treated her the way he treats Arika, he bought Arika like 100 things for her birthday while only getting Nina a necklace. Heck he even just told her that the reason he adopted her was for her to become Nagi's Otome.

Ers being an enemy was really unexpected, I think everyone predicted that she would die but I don't think any one predicted that she was an enemy. I just wish they didn't give her the generic slave.

Nao earned bonus points this episode for trying to escape once she lost her robe [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img].

Gotta say they should have invested a little more in EMP resistance, though... Sucks quite bad that the defences of a whole nation are brought to their knees with just one pulse.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too, all this awesome technology and they can't handle an EMP...sad. And from all the exploding and stuff I don't think the system is in as good of shape as the doctor said anyway.

It was really creepy for an EMP, (but I don't think that's what it was). If you watch carefully, they load a huge shell into it. At first I didn't know what to make of it, but later all I thought was cocoon or more importantly "casket." When they fired the beam cannon, a woman appeared in the charge and screamed/wailed/keened. Then the memorials and Fumi's grave shook and the robes broke down.

I think they were doing something really nasty to an Otome.

This looks sweet, bridging the inter-univers/time charachter gap. Arika has the same crystal double sword as the sapphire robe in Otome, though apparently she's evil now... hope this will be as good at it looks

That's not a shell... the way I see it... that was Shinso's coffin (or something like that)

wow... that was a great episode! really, much more mature than the other ones. the flashbacks were well placed and really added something (unlike those in GSD). Aoi's death was powerful! and i felt really bad for Mashiro. damn! I think this was the best episode since the series started. Before this, it was just an entertaining show, but this was smart storytelling and all. to me now, its right up there with Zipang and Eureka 7. I didn't watch the preview (i usually don't when i like a show), but i hope next eps will be as good.

I wouldn't go quite as far as Darknoding in evaluating the development in this series, but it was certainly a step in the right direction. Somebody said of Mai Hime that the first and last halves of the show were like two different shows altogether. Mai Otome has been more balanced in that sense. Still, despite the positive factors, Nagi's plans are proceeding far too smoothly and effortlessly for my tastes. Perhaps it's just the lack of episodes that forced them to make it so, but he looks more like a villain constructed by a plot device than a real mastermind and excellent strategist. Well, the show was more about Arika and her development anyway, so maybe that's not so important.

A very good episode nonetheless. But what the hell is Arika doing? Living happily with some random grandmother as if nothing had happened..?

It seems that Miyu is apparently the same one from Mai-Hime, which supposedly took place thousands of years earlier. Unless they make up some other reason for her creation on this world, that is.

I was shocked to see Aoi die. I kept hoping that Mashiro would have the courage to move during that scene, but unfortunately, she didn't. Aoi didn't hate her or anything like that. She saw in Mashiro exactly what she knew was always there. A scared little girl, who ultimately will make the correct choices.

Mashiro really got set up for all this. Nagi took advantage of her honestly good intentions, ones she had learned from her adventures with Takumi, and too over the castle to turn it into that beam cannon. Too little, too late.

I can only guess that Arika found her way into the Black Valley where Midori takes care of. Either that or it is where she grew up, since we know she's from the desolate unnamed territories.

As usual, Nao and Haruka steal the show. I didn't think Yukino has it in her to knock Haruka out with a giant rock. As for Nao, she's already taking advantage of her new position to pick on Natsuki.

Hey! how did you guys download that so fast? I started downloading right after the link was posted and Im still at 22%. is there a trick or something to download that so fast? I use Bitcomet and my internet is ADSL 2MB so the conection speed shouldnt be a problem. Is it the fucking BitComet or is it the tracker or whatever its called? which program do you use?

I use BitComet and got it in a couple of hours, or something. Have you restricted your upload speed to something insignificant? That could lead to a decreased download speed. I rarely get a share ratio of 1.0+ with hot new torrents in the time it takes to download a single episode despite the fact my connection is symmetric (2/2) (I did get 1.3 with this episode of Mai Otome, though, when the dl was finished).

Seeders shouldn't be a problem. There should be a huge amount of those around for this particular torrent... Check that no spyware is hogging your bandwidth. Edit: And pause your pr0n downloads until the Mai Otome dl is finished...

According to WMP I watched this ep at 2:46am before I went to sleep, you sure you aren't downloading multiple other things? Anyways the program I'm using is utorrent, pretty neat client. Decided to check it out after BOC posted about it. Anyways that ep was well done, I really didn't feel that bad for Mashiro since she annoyed the heck out of me. I was sad to see Aoi die on the other hand. Every episode where Nao has a brief appearance she completely takes over.

Thanx Kraco. Ive eliminated all spyware, have no porn downloading at the moment and theres no limit to uploads or downloads but its still really slow. Thank you anyways. Does anyone use a different program that can download faster and is easy to use? BitComet gets me mad. Its always eaally slow andits not because of the seeds or anything, though I wander if its something to do with the ports. Any experts in the field?

I snagged it off irc or a ddl, I forgot. It took about 40 minutes, so it was probably a ddl. I finished watching it about 3am EST.

BitComet is garbage. uTorrent is much better than it, though I use ABC, eventually I'll upgrade to uTorrent. As for the ports issue, if you're using a router I know that can cause some problems, and there are actually groups that restrict the standard BT ports so you need to open up random ones. That would unfortunately be the extent of my knowledge though.

I've been using IRC pretty much exclusively for about a year and a half. Fastest way to download, unless you're one of those people who get insane BT speeds.

Now for another week of anticipation....
