    Eps 17 by Bakakozou..

    Eps 17

Is it just me, or does it feel like we missed an eps or two while watching this one?

A flashback. I can't really guess when it happened though. More really interesting things introduced. More and more I'm viewing Diva as a twin to Saya, possibly a sister even. She must be hiberating or something though, that would explain how they keep lugging her around in a shipping container.

I still don't see the forum of Blood+ that was supposed to get restored, in the meantime I'll make this the official Discussion thread

Yeah, I have no clue on what happened in this episode either... I guess it was a flashback also...

I wonder what the promise was also...

not really that confusing for me... maybe the first seconds, until they stated that it was set in 1918-20...
and Rasputin was a lil girl! haha... and I guess he's probably a woman in her 30s now uh?
but i'm confused, Saya went to sleep in 1920... then woke up in the 70s, slaughtered a bunch of people then went back to sleep or... Diva woke up in the 70s and Saya has her memories? mmm the way they were talking before is as if it really was Saya that did this... well we'll see

At first I was really confused. I was like "Where's Riku?" and "Why is Hagi so damn smily/lovey-dovey?" Then I figured it out it was a flashback. It was pretty obvious that it was set in Russia around the time of the Bolshevik Revolution, I don't know what the confusion's all about. It figures that they'd leave out the most important part of the promise.

And this was an awesome episode! We finally got to see the other side of Hagi and Saya. What a world of difference between then and now!

I did not see that plot twist coming. There was some insanely bloody parts in this episode, violent as hell. And the fight at the end was beautiful! Really well done. Great Brother Ansell... I wonder if he is still around too, or if he is one of the Chevalier who died...

Dude, Rasputin got killed. Didn't you see her/him crystalize?

Diva and Saya. Hmm, well they both went to sleep around the same time. Diva's awakening in the modern day is close to Saya's "awakening" (not her coming out of the tomb three years ago, but Hagi's kissing her and re-awakening the old blood in her). Saya's blood really does counter-act against the Chiroptera that come from Diva. I'm sensing a "vampire twin" thing in as the explanation.

yea I know that... but i'm sure that the old woman in the show has something to do with Grigori. maybe it was the father of the girl, or maybe rasputin's consciousness had time to transfer when she killed the old woman. I dunno. i have to check, but it seems that it wasn't a lil' girl looking figure that attacked Haji...

Checked. Saya is in the kitchen talking with Sonya, Hagi comes in half-naked cuz their clothes are still wet probably. He leaves, Saya talks to Sonya. Goes to a shot of the old woman watching from near the house outside. Commercial break.

The next scene is Haji finding the letter from Grigori in Sonya's father's room. He is fully clothed, which means its been at least a little while since the kitchen scene. He hears a sound, through the window sees what looks like the old woman walking away. He goes after her.

Hagi is running through the woods, the woman's figure is blurred in the distance. Hagi thinks "Is that Grigori?". He gets to a large clearing, the woman has vanished. Hagi looks around. From out of nowhere in the sky a huge projectile comes, and Hagi gets pwned. We never see the attacker.

But later on that old woman appears again. She attacks Sonya with the hatchet, yells at Saya. Then she gets killed, really easily too I might add.

So I think the old woman who attacked Sonya is the same as the one from the town. But whoever was outside the house at night is something different. Her face looks very serious and dangerous when she is looking at it before the break. We only see the back and side of the old woman AFTER the commercial break, when Hagi gets pwned.

I really didn't think about it. I assume Sonya was in the room with Saya. Besides, during the fight Sonya never uses any kind of projectile weapon, which is what was used on Hagi. I think we'll find out later when the old woman from the modern day reappears.

If the old woman Hagi followed to the ambush is the same who took Liza's shape in present time, wouldn't Hagi have suspected something, when they first time met her at the station? Or is he just too silent to utter any speculations? Or maybe he had forgotten. It's a long time, after all... And on the other hand the old woman might have been also somebody else's skin. Who knows what the original human looked like.

It was nice to catch up with this series during this weekend. Not a wasted effort, although it wasn't nice to suddenly realise I had reached the most recent episode...

I guess Saya has been hunting Diva for quite a while now. The large projectile weapon thrown at Hagi could have been a huge tree bark by Grigori/Sonya.

I think this might have been in the destroyed thread but, are either Shinsen or Bakakozu much more accurate than each other or are the differances just personal preferance?

They are both around the same level. Shinsen released faster, but Bakakozu was better quailty.

It seems Shinsen has released ep 18. Does that mean that they are continuing?

episode 18 was nice... apparently the Saya-less episodes have a pretty good intrigue plot. it wasn't as good as the photographer one but it was nice.

well everything is coming together. Now we definitely know that the Chiros are made from Diva's blood who had a "unique blood type". Makes me wanna see her even more.

Well I havent watched the next episode of Blood+ yet, but as far as the whole "the original topic is gone" mystery...
    The Original Blood+ topic
Silly moderators... Even Scooby Doo could have solved this one.

I wasn't looking for the original topic, I was looking for the forum that was supposedly going to be restored. The decision in making this the official thread was based on this thread having the most recent discussions, so it really would make little sense to use a thread (the original one) that has outdated discussion.

I didn't like this episode one bit. Very cheap plot development (although not uncommon in anime). I don't know why the anime characters always rather listen to their enemies than their friends. First the transvestite chevalier wounds badly Saya's friend, and then Saya believes everything the man-bitch says. Yeah, right.

They should have invented a bit more believable plot twist... Or perhaps Saya didn't inherit only a deadly blood but also a mind of no integrity and little wits.

Why wouldn't Saya believe her. She knew the others were withholding information from her, they even told her that. From her point of view, David seemed to know what Diva was (really, I thought he knew since the beginning, though i was wrong). Deep down she knew that she wasn't human. So basically, the vampire just confirmed several things she knew and added the fact that Diva was her little sister (which is probably true). Also, there is the fact that when someone holds such power over another person (like it seemed that she could kill or at least defeat Saya rather easily), you're more enclined to believe that person. Personally, I do think this is cliched, but it worked well enough.
Well, I liked this episode. there's the fact that several things were confirmed, the addition of a new vampire faction and the fact that we'll probably see Diva next ep.

She knew perfectly well she's not human, so that shouldn't have been any shock. And whether Diva is her sister is questionable, or a matter of definition. And the chevalier certainly didn't give any proof she is her sister, so why would she believe her (or him, whatever) and label David a liar because he didn't say anything. Well, it's irrelevant whether she believes her or not, but what matters is that she stopped trying to fight her. When she was standing right behind Saya, with her hands around Saya's neck, it would have been a nice position and chance to use what was left of her sword. But she rather listened to her enemy.

And so Saya left her sword behind and hit the road. Maybe to go and meet her sister and the rest of the jolly group whom she has been fighting against all the time. Although I wouldn't be disappointed if she was killed right away if she goes there, I still have a slight hope she actually isn't going anywhere, but rather just sulks in some corner until Kai finds her.
