I've always felt that Kryptonite is the worst plot device the Superman series has ever had.

Its a necessary element, cuz without it he would be completely invulnerable. But it shouldn't be such a common occurrence. Only the major supervillians should have access to kryptonite

They simply needed to be more creative creating supervillians that would be able to challenge him.

Seriously at this point they really need to come up with a better formula for the actual battles last season wasn't bad because the zoners were equal or better than Clark himself which adding some much needed depth and strategy to the fight.

If i was Clark you'd think he would be smart enough to know to search for and destroy as much Kryptonite as possible. By the way just how many different types of kryptonite are there anyway. That being said Smallville is by far one of my favorite shows and its good to see that they are continuing to explore the intricate nature of Lex's personality and the relationship between him, Clark and Lana. I wish that Lana would just die for good soon as her character really isn't worthy of anyone fighting over she still needs alot more development I feel.

It seems that Brainac may be making a return at the end of this season looking forward to seeing if and how it plays out.

Sorry for the rant by the way.

    Last nights episode was good.

Dean Cain showed up, for a moment I thought he would be that old kryptonian they are looking for. The drama with supergirl and the Mars guy was nice, completely divided Clark's loyalties, so lets see where it goes from here. Lana and her secret spy room was kinda cool too, for a moment I though that Lex would look at one of the camera's as a sign that he's aware the he's being watched. And Chloe is weak.

God every time I start to like Lana a little bit she goes and pulls another stunt like this. It was great when she was playing house and making pancakes and giving Clark that little kiss when he came home, but then the end ruined it and showed she's still a crazy self-important hypocrite. I would have thought the secret spy room was cool if it weren't for the fact that Lana whines constantly about people she loves keeping secrets from her while doing just that.

MM vs Kara felt like it came completely out of nowhere but I remember now that MM served Jor'El and Jor'El's not a fan of her so it makes sense. Clark doesn't really know either of them nor does he know what that Crystal is or what it could do so he's really in a tight spot over what to do. I suspect the crystal is going to be Zor El's version of the Fortress of Solitude.

Great plot development. Loved Dean Cain always felt like he was a good actor who just can't seem to find any good roles. The cameo was a long time coming and was really good, immortality was a nice spin. The conclusion with the Kryptonite showing up everywhere once again could've been done better though especially since we have no idea what they did with him after that.

I'm resolute that Lana should just die for good as all she does is divert attention from all that is good about the show. Kristen Kreuk does not deserve so much face time. I really wish Erica Durance would get a more consistent role on the show because Lois is a much better character.

I don't know, but I'd say that last night's episode was one of the better ones of the series. There were some midly disturbing scenes, which was nice with Lionel trying to break free. The moment he went psycho-killer was very good too, that was a cool scene. Clark almost flew, but the jackass was in cloud 9 and didn't realize it. Lana is EVIL.

Last nights episode was sub par in my opinion, Clark being a hero saving a beautiful woman just to have some insane villain who thinks he is saving the world find out about his powers and try to kill Lana. Another Luther being held captive, the reason does not even matter at this point. Still Lex's character development is still the most interesting thing about this show for me. Lex, Lionel, Lois and Kara are pretty much the only redeeming characters in the show. This episode only served to reaffirm in my mind the need for Lana to die,

Things I loved about this episode: Finally they get it, Lana needs to die for Clark to actually do anything still have no idea why he is so hung up on that chick, Lex I could go on about his character forever, looks like Chloe and Lois might get some much needed development though i doubt it'll be anything significant. Lionel trying to talk some sense into the crazy bitch instead of putting 3 bullets in her head.

Things I hated about this episode: Lionel trying to talk some sense into the crazy bitch instead of putting 3 bullets in her head, Clark saving Lana and the fool just jumped off the building instead of flying and then appears to be mesmerized by her beauty makes me want to hurl. How long it took Clark and Chloe to figure the guy would try to kill Lana I mean DUH. Lana, Lana, Lana, use of the phrase "Google Proof", and did they really try to suggest that Clark is "hanging up his cape" to be with Lana (excuse me while i regurgitate).

Best thing about this episode: Next week's preview

It is inherently evident that my dislike of Lana Lang has evolved from a simple prejudiced opinion into a full blown hatred that has undoubtedly affected my entire assessment of this show and will forever hinder from enjoying this series. Damn I Hate Her!

    Last nights ep...

We got to see Clark's mom for the first time. And apparently there is going to be some cloning involved. It doesnt seem like Clark would do something like that. But I guess we will have to wait and find out.

Last night’s episode was horrendous. Kara was great as usual and Jimmy and Chloe are getting some much needed character development, like that she was attempting to accept the fact that she is a meteor freak. Lionel’s and Lex’s relationship remains ambiguous and I still have no idea what their motives are. Lex is still ambivalent about whether he is or wants to be a good guy or not. Loved the plot developments and the back-story was good albeit clichéd, Ofcourse he was a mad scientist who hated his brother because he stole his woman, hoped they would’ve come up with something better than that.

The fact that Lara and Kara had previously visited earth was not surprising because it was established early on that Kryptonians regularly came to earth but the mention of a portal was surprising and seemed like intentional foreshadowing, actually this entire episode seemed that way including the fact that Zor-El was asking Lara to remain on earth with him.

What killed this episode in my opinion was that psycho chick Lana for obvious reasons but the fact that she claims that she is using the money to help the meteor freaks and their families to try and make up for what Lex did really pissed me off, along with the fact that she thinks she is doing some good and she is still hiding stuff from Clark who is completely oblivious to any of her actions, which gets me to my main problem with this episode Clark.

Personally I never liked the superman character because of his whole moral superiority and his incessant need to do what is right and never kill which I find to be completely unrealistic and in most cases it is futile because death is the only way you can know with any certainty that a villain will not return. That being said I’ve come to accept it as part of the character of Superman and it is essentially his only major flaw and his biggest weakness but don’t change it, it’s the most interesting part of his character he never lies, steals, or deceives anyone unless he somehow feels it is in there best interest and even then he is always riddled with guilt so that was what ruined this episode for me, a twist worthy of M. Night Shyamalan.

-Oh I forgot to mention how ridiculous it was that a picture was hidden in his house for more than twenty years and remained both hidden and undamaged for upwards of twenty years even though the house was damaged numerous times and completely destroyed twice but then I remember that this is just a TV show and I’m taking things way too seriously.

Average little episode. Was it really a seasonal episode because it really didn't seem that way. This show is getting far too predictable for me, I predict almost verbatim everything that is going to happen. Partly because I know so much about Superman lore but mostly because this has all been done before. It seems like they have just been reworking previous scripts and its not just this episode I have been getting that feeling the last couple seasons but it just hasn't been getting any better. Watching this episode I actually got bored the show has really lost its appeal.

One of Lex's experiments gets away and holds someone hostage so he can force someone else to make Lex confess. Lana, Lana, Lana its been seven seasons and her character hasn't changed at all which wouldn't be so bad except that it wasn't good to begin with.

Once again Clark goes zombie, it usually because he either gains some enlighten that makes him act differently which he suddenly forgets all about a few episodes later, or some from of Kryptonite red, green, silver what have you or some other such nonsense. He always does some crap and then his father has to punish him and then he miraculously realizes the error of his ways only to once again regress once his punishment is over. At least we get to see Bizarro for a while it was pretty obvious that Clark hadn't finished him in the beginning of the season. What is up with that any they always make a big deal out of something for the finale and then it is all miraculously taken care of half-way through the first episode of the next season.

Chloe heals, wow, what a waste of time. Now she and Jimmy are going to get back together and then some crap is going to happen in one of three ways and they are going to be apart again. She is uncomfortable with being a meteor freak, he thinks that all meteor freaks go psycho eventually.

Lex cloned his brother, like we didn't see that one coming. I mean they already told us his brother was dead, and they said he had cloned Lana in the beginning of the season then all of a sudden they reveal this new guy to be his brother. Really, I never would've thought of it.

Lois falls in love with someone who turns out to have this life threatening secret so they can't be with her. Then there is the whole situation with Clark and Lana, like anyone thinks that relationship is going to work when the lowest common denominator is Lex. How much foreshadowing are they going to do before they put the two of them together are do they plan on just teasing it forever.

There is a lot more I could say but I'm getting bored just thinking about it. I'll try to focus on the good things next time. Well atleast we saw "Clark use his powers for awhile which was nice, I was going to say when did he learn to fly, but turns out its Bizarro, I thought he had just gone Kal-El again.

Anyway at least we get to see more Bizarro and looks like we are getting close to seeing Brainiac again which is what I was waiting for since the beginning of this season but it looks like they are going to use the same formula they used last season. The plot just really lacks any continuity and really its lost its appeal to me.

This was or I should say it could've been a great episode. I hate when they bring characters in only to have then die really unimpressive and unoriginal deaths. Seriously they got to do something about that they always build up villains only to have them handily taken care of later. They way they got rid of Bizarro was pathetic.

I knew they would kill off Julian because they really had nothing else to do with his character but did they have to use that old cliché. It didn't even look right and no one can say that they didn't see that one coming.

In any case, love the dark turn Lex is taking and how "direct" he was about it too. Although I'm sure they are just flip flopping his character again, I mean just how many times can he try to act the part of the good guy only to go awry again.

I'm not even going to talk about yet another damn Kryptonian getting introduced only to die immediately afterward. Anyway atleast Brainiac is back, for now anyway.

That bracelet of his was fugly...who the hell wears a 4 lb rock on their wrist? atleast fashion it into a normal bracelet. Seriously, the writers are really dropping the ball here.

And also, Bizzaro being in love with lana? wtf. I thought it was bad when clark just punched him into the sky, but compared to this, that method was infinately more badass. Who the fuck gets destroyed by blue kryptonite? and by fucking Lana?

  19. #279
I've said before, and I'll say it again... I hate episodes that deal with Kryptonite; they are always the worst. I liked Lex killing off Julian though, and since this is probably his last season they better setup some big confrontation between him and Clark soon just so that he can go out with a bang. Everything else, was boring... every episode seems to have the same sort of dialogue.

What do mean his last season. You mean Michael doesn't intend to come back, I can't say I blame him but I can't imagine Smallville without him.
